CSUB Nursing Program for Fall 2014

Published

Hello, I'm making this thread for everyone thinking of applying and applying to CSUB's nursing program for the Fall 2014! This is the month for transfers (like me) to submit the CSU Mentor app. The nursing app is already posted on the college's website!

Any nursing hopefuls for fall 2014?

I'm seeing all these good scores, I think you guys will get in for sure or have a great chance of getting in. It's making me doubt my chances more and more. But, in other news, I got accepted into my back up school Mount Saint Mary's! So if all else fails with my number one choice of CSUB, atleast I can get started elsewhere. :D But still praying daily to get into CSUB! Good luck everyone, July is just around the corner! :D

Congratulations on Mount St. Mary's!

I'm glad that you will have somewhere to go just in case, but I doubt you will need a just in case... I hope that you will get in. :)

Thank you @allaboutkitties :) I really appreciate the kind words!:shy:

We should hear something on the 1st right? This waiting is killing me! One more week though...

No problem Steph! From what I remember, you applied for the ADN program, correct?

@Andime89: In the past, people have heard on July 1st but it might not be that way this year. In the email we received confirming that our application has been received, it simply states that we could hear anytime between July to late August. It would be ideal if we got to hear on July 1st though!

Are you a current CSUB student?

Yeah, I'm a current student at CSUB. I'm from Bakersfield so I transferred over from the cc to get the extra points. It really would be ideal to hear on the first! Especially since we didn't get tentative rankings like the previous classes did because the advisor is on maternity leave.

How about you? Are you from the area or out of town?

Yes it is :) but its nice that they have a direct ADN-BSN program so it's likely to get to BSN within the same 3 years as it would take at CSUB. So that's a plus :D And yes, I am hopeful that we will hear something around the first week of July, that would be GREAT!! I agree, the wait has been killing me too @Andime89 !!

I am slowly dying to hear back from CSUB's SoN and I am not feeling confident with only 65.5 points

I feel you on tentative rankings... it would've been nice to know where we stood so we can start planning appropriately in case we get accepted.

I'm from out of town, more specifically, Los Angeles.

Can you tell me more about Bakersfield since you live there? Haha. I only pass through there when I go camping at Yosemite or Lake Isabella.

That's awesome! One of the schools I got accepted to (Los Angeles County) also has an ADN-BSN collaboration program with CSULA. I can start working on my BSN by taking some of the classes required for the BSN during the summers while I'm attending L.A County and then finish the last year of my BSN at CSULA after I graduate from County and pass the NCLEX! Attending County and getting my BSN at CSULA would also take three years, which is definitely a plus.

Do you know anyone who attends CSUB or would you move out to Bakersfield not knowing anyone, like myself? LOL

Hopefully we hear back in a week!

Are you a current student at CSUB or is this your first choice?

Yeah, CSUB is the last college that I'm waiting on. Every other CSU I applied to gave me their admission notice in May.

And I'm not a current CSUB student so I missed out on those easy 5 points.
