CSUB Nursing Program for Fall 2014

Published

Hello, I'm making this thread for everyone thinking of applying and applying to CSUB's nursing program for the Fall 2014! This is the month for transfers (like me) to submit the CSU Mentor app. The nursing app is already posted on the college's website!

Any nursing hopefuls for fall 2014?

Specializes in ICU.

I love it! I read up on allnurses before I started nursing school and it scared me pretty bad for what was in store. Nursing school hasn't been extremely difficult, but it's a ton of assignments and time management. We have really good professors and clinical experiences. I have finals next week, and then I'll have finished my second year. I graduate next Spring.

Thank you so much! You're so helpful :)

Awww good for you! It must be an exciting time for you right now

Hello :) I will share, even though I was hesitant at first because I will be honest, I got a C in anatomy and it discourages me so much. However, I got A's in Micro, Phys and Chem. But still it sucks. CSUB is my number one choice! I have been hoping and praying everyday to get in.

But all that aside, my current calculations tell me that my score would be 55. If I total it with the secondary criteria, it's 58. I really hope to get in, and I hope that my point total is enough. But July can't come soon enough! lol

I wish you all luck! And thank you for the encouraging info as well MSrn2015. How exciting!! I love how friendly you all are on here, and I hope we all get in.

I hope that 58 points is enough! :)

It seems that people in the past have gotten in with that point total so I hope it's good enough to get you in.

Thank you I appreciate it! I am hoping too :)

In the meantime, I am re-taking anatomy. Trying to get an A, then I can try again next year if all else fails :D

I assume your approaching finals since you attend a CC. If that is the case, I wish you the best of luck on finals!

Have you heard back from any of the other schools you applied to?

wow lol i have 65.5 too! good luck!

Haha I hope we both get in! :)

I am actually taking an online class at CSUB and am going to take anatomy during summer at CC. But thank you :) I was accepted as an alternate for two other schools but that's it. How about you? Have you heard from any others?

Good luck with anatomy! I retook it too before but I dropped it the first time with a w. :(

Awwww good luck Steph! :)

If you get accepted into CSUB's nursing program, will you be retaking Anatomy or dropping it?

I'm an alternate at Chico and I should be hearing back from Los Angeles County soon.

Hopefully CSUB works out for all of us!

Thank you @summyrn! Smart of you to drop it first! See I was doing really good at first which is why I ended up with a C. But somewhere towards the end, I slacked off and it went downhill. But I got A's in the harder classes of Micro and Physio so I'm just hoping that counts for something! lol

@allaboutkitties Thank you :) If I get accepted somewhere before the class starts I will be dropping it before the semester begins. Because, I got a call from Mount Saint Marys for an interview, so it sounds hopeful. And so, that will be my backup plan if I don't get into CSUB :D

Good Luck with Chico and LA County!! I've hear dgood things about both of those nursing programs! And I agree, I hope we all end up at CSUB and then we all ended up worrying for nothing...that would be best case scenario ;)
