  1. Love hearing about your experience! I start a new grad residency in the ICU in 3 weeks. Keep up the hard work :)
  2. I feel like this type of information should have also been given in report--this patient is a high fall risk, has a hx of falls and has specific safety protocols in place during ambulation to prevent a fall. This may have been a case of a caregiver simply not following what should have been done. Would reading the ambulation instructions in a care plan have made a difference in this case? Can't say for sure, but I don't personally think so. As a disclaimer, I'm a new grad and have yet to start working on the floor. In my experience during my rotations the nurses simply breezed through the care plans to get them charted and done; it was considered another hoop to jump through.
  3. I took it this morning as well! Shut off at 75; had 14 SATA, lots of meds, and tons of priority, teaching and therapeutic communication questions. I left feeling it was pretty easy, definitely easier than Kaplan. Did the PVT when I got to my car and got the good pop-up.
  4. My ATT came at 10pm. A lot of my classmates got their ATT late at night as well. The BRN is still working on processing April applications, I think it may be awhile for May apps to get processed, unfortunately. I applied April 30 and got my ATT last week, however there are many people in my class that applied at the same time and have not received it and people who applied even earlier in April who haven't received it. It seems almost random.
  5. I applied April 30th... Still waiting
  6. I'm not sure what advice you were looking for... they will send you a break down of weak areas. Study those, maybe purchase a qbank to get more practice, and reschedule.
  7. Did your Hurst review come with the pass or money back guarantee? I would contact Hurst and explain your situation--they may allow you to retake the course because you have yet to pass the NCLEX. Personally, I would get in to a serving position. While not ideal, if you get into a busy chain restaurant it's typically good money and fairly easy. Schedules at corporate/chain restaurants are flexible. Contact Hurst, retake the class, pass NCLEX while working to support the two of you. Don't give up on your hard work!
  8. Interviews are starting to go out!
  9. Thank you! What units are you hoping to apply for?
  10. Hi, I will also be applying. I know the application opens in March, does anybody know the specific date?
  11. I love it! I read up on allnurses before I started nursing school and it scared me pretty bad for what was in store. Nursing school hasn't been extremely difficult, but it's a ton of assignments and time management. We have really good professors and clinical experiences. I have finals next week, and then I'll have finished my second year. I graduate next Spring.
  12. No problem! I scored an 89 on the TEAS, and for GPA they only considered our pre-reqs and divided it in to 2 categories, science and everything else. I can't remember exactly but I had a 3.91 for science and a 3.7 or 3.8 for the other GPA category. I had "bonus" points for being from Kern County, being a continuing CSUB student, community service, etc. I think they're still doing the same selection method (point system), but because the adviser is on maternity leave they're cutting out rankings. I know a lot of people that got in with much lower TEAS scores and GPAs. I know that we are planning a meet and greet for the newly admitted nursing students for early August, so I think you guys will know early July.
  13. Its [email protected] Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
  14. Try not to stress too much about getting in, I'm sure you guys are all sitting fine. I'm currently a student in CSUB's nursing program and when I got in, a lot of people that sat below the 60th ranking ended up getting in because students chose other schools, etc. If I remember correctly, we were told right at the beginning of July about our acceptance, because there's a lot of "to do's" before school starts in September.
