  1. She said it was mainly that the clinical placement specialist that she was working with didn’t think she was doing enough on her part to find places for clinically, which annoyed her. But at the end of the day the specialist still helped her find clinical for her to finish
  2. I recently applied to Simmons and got in. I have a friend who recently graduated from their NP Program and said although it was frustrating at times, the school helped her find her preceptors
  3. Did our end up getting into the WHNP program? And if so, did you attend and would you recommend the program? I’m interested in applying...
  4. Following! Same!
  5. following! Same question.
  6. I actually did end up getting the job and it's going really well. I love the job. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
  7. I personally chose to wear business casual attire for orientation only because I knew I was going to be wearing scrubs for pretty much the rest of my life! I took it as an opportunity to wear something other than scrubs for the time being, but like others said, it's all personal preference.
  8. This is perfect. Thank you!
  9. I have been a nurse on a med/surg/oncology unit for the past year. Recently, I had an interview for a job at a children's hospital, a job that has always been my dream. The interview went well and they asked me for my references. If I were offered the job at the children's hospital, I would be respectfully resigning from my current job. How do I go about writing a letter of resignation? What should the content of the letter include? I've never had to do one before. Is it an actual paper letter or can it be emailed? please help!
  10. As long as you get some background experience in an area of nursing, it will come in handy! I've been working on an adult med/surg/oncology unit for a year and just had an interview at Boston Children's Hospital for a position on their hem/onc floor. Mind you I have no real experience working on peds, so I was nervous for the interview. But as long as you present yourself well you should do fine and once you start talking about your experiences you will start to relax and feel comfortable. I think my interview went well because they called back a couple hours after my interview asking to send my references. Hope all goes well for you!
  11. If anyone out there can hear me, HEELLLPPP!! Next week I have an interview at Boston Children's Hospital on the Hematology/Oncology unit. I am so excited, but anxious and nervous at the same time. I have ALWAYYYSSS wanted to work at this hospital and provided that I have never worked there before I am happy the opportunity exists. Has anyone ever had an interview at BCH? If so, how did the process go? Did you get the job? How long after the interview did you find out you got the job? What kind of questions did they ask? What should I expect? I want this job sooooo badly and I need all the help I can get to ace this interview! SN: I graduated with my BSN in May 2014 and have been working on a medical/surgical/oncology unit for one year now. THANKS
  12. Hey guys! So I took the NCLEX yesterday (7/22) and ended my test around 130-140Qs. I walked out of there unsure of where I stood, but as soon as I got in the car, I tried the PVT and got the good pop. Hours later it switched to the "on hold" pop-up. Now I'm a little worried as to what happened. I know that there was a bit of a delay before the test cause I recently had a name change but the person at the location told me that I did everything right. I just don't know what to think. Did I pass? Did I fail? Has this ever happened to anyone else before? I need some insight!
  13. Unfortunately, I have yet to take the NCLEX. But I have been using Kaplan also. Never thought I'd get the 60% they ask for until the last two QTrainers (#6 = 67% & #7 = 60%). I'll make sure to let you know how it goes when I do take it!
  14. That's considered a 60 on Kaplan which is good! They say to aim for a 60 on Question Trainers 6 & 7 because that shows about a 95% passing rate on the NCLEX on your first try! I got a 60.33% on my Q7!
  15. Quick question: In order to pass the NCLEX, do you have to get above passing in each of the "Client Needs" areas or each of the "Categories of Client Needs" area? It makes a big difference
