CSU Stanislaus ASBSN 2022

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi!

As application period for the ASBSN program at Stan State is nearing, I was hoping to get a thread going so I can talk to others interested in this program.

Anyone here applying?

Thanks for letting me know about the info session Abigail! I'll definitely try to attend. And 100 points sounds like you're in super good standing RN!!

Hi everyone!

I was unable to attend the info session for this month. Just wondering if they mentioned any changes to the application and what their cut off point was for the recent cohort?

Thanks!

Hi! I attended and they did mention that it's possible that the ASBSN will have a combined single application versus applying to the university and the program separately. However, they weren't sure so they just said to keep an eye on the website.

They didn't say the exact point cut off but they did reiterate that the program is very competitive and they expect to have even more applicants this time around. If you were to go off the averages from the last cohort and compare them with the application scoring grid,I think it's safe to say that the average points is probably around 78-80 points before adding in any point for CSU graduate, permanent residency, healthcare experience and bilingual. My guess and this is just a guess is that the average was possibly in the 90s?

I would love to hear anyone else's thoughts.

That is probably a safe assumption on points. I am getting sooo nervous to apply!

Will you apply to the regular BSN program there as well? I really miss out on some points for that applicationbecause I completed my sciences at mjc

I’ve never looked at their regular application! I’m pretty set on doing an accelerated program because I’ve done soooo much schooling haha. I’m thinking of possibly applying to the ASBSN at CSU San Marcos as a back up but it is a 24 month versus 17 month program and from what I can tell they don’t give any extra points to CSU grads. I’m hoping my 10 points for being a CSU grad and 5 points for permanently living in the area will be enough to get it.

I actually retook the TEAS test on Friday because my initial 88% didn’t seem competitive after that crazy new 92% average. It’s crazy how competitive it’s getting!

10000% feel that being done with school. The accelerated program is super ideal. Stan's is the only one I could really manage to do

Hey everyone, I plan to apply to the program this year but I am extremely nervous!! I took my TEAS 2 weeks ago and was aiming for a 90% but got a 84%. I'm contemplating retaking the TEAS again but I just have one more chance to get a better score. My dilemma is whether I should retake it now or apply this year and if I don't get into the program I can retake the TEAS next year. Anyone else going through the same struggle?

Ughhhh yesss I feel this. I've taken it twice now and have gone from an 83.3 to an 86.7, and I just signed up to do it one last time to try to get closer to 2021 admission average... its just expensive ?

Here's how the points for 2021 admission average and 2020 admission average looked. There were a little over 50 more applicants for this year's program than there was for 2020.

Thank you Abigail! I'm at 92 points minimum (estimating my overall GPA, haven't had the time to sit down and actually tally everything) including the optional points. I am now debating if I should retake the TEAS one more time to see if it will help me. It just seems like all programs are getting more and more competitive as years go by.
