CSU San Marcos ABSN Fall 2017

Published

Hey guys!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Fall 2017 ABSN at CSUSM at the Temecula campus so we could all go through this process together and get to know each other! I know it's still early since the deadline isn't until March but I have submitted my application recently and I'm impatient.

So if anyone else has applied or is planning on applying, let's get a conversation going!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Ellme! Thats a really competitive score! For sure you will be in. Im kind of worry about the tution, as I calculated we will spend at least $42k on tution for the entire program excluding other fees and expenses. Thats scary.

Specializes in ICU.

I agree with that. Loans scare me. I got my first degree without any debt so I'm super hesitant to take out that much money (really more than that with other expenses). But I mean it's our carreer right? That's what I tell myself

Hey guys!

I just sent in my application today, and I think my projected points will be around 38 - 39 (at least I'm hoping so!).

However, I did accidentally pick Undergraduate program when sending all my transcripts. It has the same address but hopefully it won't hurt my chances of getting in.

Hi:geek:

Does anyone know approximately when the evaluations come out after your application is completed? Is this through email or on the MyCSUSM site. And is it true that the acceptance emails come out in April? Would that be mid or late?

Thank you!

I didn't realize tuition was so pricey! Making me have to re-evaluate everything.

Hi jdwong! Once you submitted your application online, you will in 48hrs receive an email include your student ID and password which you can use to access the school portal. There you will be able to see your to-do list which tell you what you have missed to send to the school. Good luck

The program is through extended learning department which does not receive any funds from the school or state, so the tution is so pricey. But I believe it worths it in the long run!

I called in and was told that the evaluations will be sent out in 4-6 weeks after your application is completed; that means there is nothing left in your to-do list on the admission portal. It is said that the admission decision will be released mid summer which I suppose is late June. Good luck!

I contacted extended learning and they told me tuition is approx 55k now. And you are correct it is through the extended department.

Word! It is a good return on investment.

Honestly I think 55k for our education isn't too bad. The other school I'm looking at is Samuel Merritt and their program is $80 to 90k for their entire year.

I'm happy that this is a better bang for your buck!! =) We all have different life situations so I just hope we can all find a program that will be easy on our budgets.
