Hey all!

Just got my acceptance email to Sac State nursing program for Fall 2010!!!!

Who else got in! been waiting for this for foreverrrrr!

vintagemother-

You're very welcome! i'm glad I can help others who are going to start, or who are currently on the journey that i just completed! Anyone can get into Sac State, it just takes a lot of hard work and dedication to your classes! Goodluck! Before you know it, you'll be applying to Sac State as well :) I'm so excited to start this Fall. I've been wanting this for soooo long

Hey Diva,

Darn I hate how alot of CCs arent giving pharm classes! but... the only other one that i know is currently still open is Solano Community College near where i live. I cant apply for it till May 18th so hopefully it will be still available. If you apply to Solano you'll probably have the same registration date as me, because i haven't taken a course there and dont have priority.

Yes, I also applied to Solano Community College. The thing is, the students who have priority have not registered yet. Registration opens May 11th I believe. So chances are, it will be filled up. I found some online distance learning, but the tuition is $1,000, I am looking to avoid that.

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg, Psych, Geri, LTC, Tele,.

Just a tip - at the community colleges, I've hear rumors that they are tightening up on letting the prof's overload the classes.

BUT: as a poster on allnurses told me, if you are willing to wait-list a class and do the work for a few weeks until people start dropping, you may be able to get in.

I did exactly this last term and was #19 on the wait list and got in. I did it because if I didn't get into that class, I had no other class I'd be taking instead.

I think it boils down to that old saying: where there's a will, there's a way. Oh, and that other saying you can only try your hardest and then let go.

Check out cerro cosa college - it's a CA community college with LOTS of online classes.

CSUS's nursing website had a list of community college course equivalents. It gave me a list of community colleges, some I'd never heard of in the outlying areas around Sacramento.

PS Super congrats Cheezin and the others on here who got in to CSUS's BSN program! You did it!!! Yeah!!

Thank you :) And thank you soooooooo much for the advice in regards to Pharmacology. I never heard of Cerro Cosa College! I was able to register for the class and went ahead and sent Sacramento State an email. I really hope that the course is acceptable for the program.

A little update: the school received approval to admit 80 students! So we will be having a big class and right now they are on alternate #33.

Congrats to all of you! VERY exciting!!! :)

I'm at a CC and have one more prereq to take in the Fall, but am haunted by the "C" I earned in Micro many years ago when I was young, clueless and adrift. :( I fear that will eliminate me from consideration to most programs, so I'm expecting I'll have to petition to retake it. Unless I run out of steam... I'm almost 50 and the years are catching up with me.

Hi guys! I got accepted into the program for this fall as well!! It's still unreal cuz I was just an alternate until I got an email friday night that said congrats!! I guess I'll be seeing you both soon!! yay!!:balloons:

Thank you :) I would recommend retaking micro only because it doesn't hurt to retake it and and state colleges allow repeats and count the higher grade.

Yeh! It is a big class and I hope that we have an amazing support system. I wonder if we will have lecture together as one class in a forum? What day is your orientation for the school?

Hello WWE Diva. That's good news! Do you know why they decided to admit 80 and is it for all CSU's? Thanks for the info!

My transfer orientation date is Thursday June 10th, how about you?

& i think they admitted 80 students this semester because they are transitioning into a bigger facility
