How many here has applied for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at CSULA?
I know it is a little bit early to talk about this, but I just submitted all of my grades, TEAS scores (ATI sends them to CSULA SON for you), and notification of health care work experience (dental assistant) from an employer.
It has been a long and anxious wait till April/May for letters of acceptance to come in, so I hope this thread can help everyone who is dealing with the same anxiety and stress that we are all dealing with.
So If anyone would like to share their overall "points" score, or questions regarding pre-reqs TEAS etc. I would be alright to share all of you mine, and answer some questions that I might know.
Thanks and godspeed everyone!
So I'm bumming around in a dark cloud all day because it's Tuesday and I have yet to get a call from the SON. All day at work I'm checking my cellphone like every 15 minutes. NOTHING! I get to class and I don't do very well on my Life-span Psychology mid-term. I figured, what's the point? I won't get accepted to the nursing school this year, so I'll go salsa dancing to blow off steam. I came home at 2:00 AM and picked up the mail: all small envelopes! Why bother....
I slam the pile of mail on the living room table, livid. I go through the mail to see. I see an envelope with MY WRITING in it. I recognized it immediately. I received a similar envelope with a REJECTION letter in it a few months back. Oh crap! They've rejected me! I must have stared at the envelope for about half a minute wondering how could this happen. Is this the way this story is going to end??? I opened the thing.... It's an ACCEPTANCE letter.
Now, I'm flying like a kite! How could something so small, mean so much??? Unbelievable....
@ckim - thanks for the compliment. I thought about taking Life-Span Psych in the summer as well, but then I realized I'd have a lot more fun by getting that out of the way now and have the entire summer off before the real grind starts in the Fall. Hope to see you in September!
@BeachBedHead - my stats are: male, single, 6'00", 200 lbs.... j/k I scored 24 points:
Overall GPA: 3.80 = 5 points
Pre-req GPA: 3.86 = 10 points
English TEAS score = 5 points
Reading TEAS score = 4 points
No volunteer or work experience points. Hope to see you next year!

what's the honors convocation
And how do youqualify
Anyone who applied as a transfer know the earliest you can apply to school of nursing?
The reason I ask is because if its like last years, applications for SON open up Sept 1st but transfers cant even apply to.the school until Oct 1. I have a CIN because I applied to CSULA in 2009 and got as far as accepted but withdrew for personal reasons.
So I am wondering if I can apply to the SON, put my CIN down (I am assuming its the same) and apply as soon as the school allows transfer applications?
