CSU Long Beach Students???

Published

Can anyone who got accepted to CSULB tell me what your resume looked like when you were accepted? GPA, Teas Scores, Prereq Scores, etc? I'm planning on applying to the program for Fall 2010 and I will still have Physiology in progress when I apply (but everything else completed). Does it make a huge difference if you have a course in progress? I know they count it as a C. I'm just wondering what my chances are of getting in, i know its really competetive, but then again they let in 90 students per semester which is pretty good for a CSU.

Thanks for the help!!

In case any of you were planning on applying for the Spring, it seems only CSULB students will be eligible:

Spring 2010 Update

Due to the continuing California budget crisis, CSUs are not accepting transfer applications for Spring 2010. Therefore, to be considered for Spring 2010 admission, applicants must be continuing CSULB students. The School of Nursing regrets that it will not be allowed to consider non CSULB students for the Spring 2010 admission cycle.

Yes, I heard about that. Good thing I didn't go for my plan to try and get all of my prereqs done in time to apply for Spring. Oh well!

Good luck to everyone who is applying for Fall. Lets hope there are only 90 qualified applicants so we all get in!!!! Hahaha, yeah right...

Hi All,

I'm taking the TEAS for the first time on Jan 13 at CSULB. Does anyone know if this test is given online at LB or is it pencil and paper? Is it all multiple choice or is some of it " fill in the blank" ? Any and all info would be welcome! Thanks.

It's pencil and paper. theres a section on english, math, and science. it's timed for each section. The science covers everything...not just anatomy, physio, and micro...but it's only 35 questions. I can't remember how many questions there are for the other sections.

How does the contract for long beach memorial hospital work and where do you apply at and what are the requirements??

It's a 2 year work committment. $2000 a semester but after taxes its $1400. At our orientation for the program, a rep came from Long Beach Memorial telling us that if we were interested to make an appointment ...we were given her contact information...I would suggest not seeing her until you have about a month left of your first semester because she'll ask you what you like about long beach memorial and she'll ask you how you like working in the hospital and how you interact with patients and things like that. Pretty much as long as your not brain dead, she'll give you the contract.
