CSN Spring 2016

Published

I know it's incredibly early, there's not even a board for Fall 2015 and their applications are due in 2 months, but I can't wait.

Is there anyone else here planning on applying for the Spring 2016 program?

I'm taking Biology 223 and 251 this semester. I'm also taking my TEAS on the 17th so I have time to take it more than once if need be. I figure I'll have 31 or 32 points. Everything except Biology 224 (which I'll be taking during the fall 15 semester) and previous medical experience, since massage therapy doesn't count.

I'm just curious if any of my potential future classmates are here already, reading up on things like I am.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Naomi I am currently finishing up my pre-nursing classes at UNLV. I am looking to apply to Spring 2016 CSN because I will still have two classes pending in the spring one of them being Math 120 and the other Micro! I don't know if anyone else is in my situation or similar to mine but that's okay!

Naomi

The deadline to apply for spring 2016 has already passed.

Hi potential classmates!!

I really hope this month goes by fast! I hate waiting!! Are any of you guys doing anything to prepare for nursing school??

Checking in with 36 points. I hate waiting soooo much, but I met with --------------- before apps were due. I think I did everything too early and its making the wait even longer lol.

There isn't much you can do before orientation other than getting started on your shots, practicing a bit of nursing related math, and getting some supplies. I wouldn't buy anything unless you have at least 30 points.

Good luck to everyone.

what supplies should we start gettting?

Since you don't need anything right now, I'd wait until the first orientation to find out. But there's a list in the student nursing handbook on the CSN website if you're too excited to wait. And there's some stuff on the previous page that I posted up that is NOT on the list.

Hey viper, inquiring minds want to know what that 28 page paper was on?

Youll find out during the first or second week. There's nothing you can do, now, about it. Also, it can change from semester to semester.

I hate writing papers! lol I was hoping that was over with the pre req's. Do you know if we have to do a lot, like every semester?

Sadly it's not as bad as one would think. If you have the research done and know all the information on your patients then you will be able to get through your papers easily, it also involves alot of attachments and tables too that you will need to insert into your papers. My first major case study paper for 101 was about 35 pages. And my second was about 46 pages. I'm a second semester student now and we have 3 papers due for 115. My first one was only 12 pages and I'm going to start on my second one this week. I figure it's going to be about the same. But the papers this semester only include maybe one to two pages of attachments.....I'm not much of the English major type either because I do hate writing but I will say that the papers we do write in nursing school are very informative as far as learning goes and really aren't that bad. Plus it's APA format and double spaced 😉

At least three, (20-40 pages per paper) this semester in just one class of the four...

Thanks, you guys are very helpful. Now I just have to wait and pray to find out if I even get in.
