Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and I was wondering if there are any fellow CSN RN Spring '13 hopefuls out there. I just turned in my application today and I would love to get to know some of my potential classmates through this forum :)

Make sure you know the conversions! there will be a page in your syllabus that has a table over conversions (Like 5 mL=1 tsp). You will have to know these for the math tests throughout school! I took mine and wrote them on a 3x5 card and then laminated it to study!

Ok I see , Im gonna take your advice on that . I should be fine I am currently a pharm tech of 10 years and we use those calculations often but Will study over and over to have it down packed just im case its something I dont know but again I really appreciate ALL the info .... It is really gone be apart of our success in the program

It's no problem! This is mostly stuff I learned along the way. I didn't know anybody before me in the program, so I was going in blind, kind of scary! You will hear things from upper classmen that will scare you, but don't let it! just worry about your semester and your class! Any other questions just ask!

Im sure you mentioned this SunshineDaisy but which semester are you in ? And how much easiar is it from the first semester? Just curious :-)

I am FT, in 3rd semester! The material is still difficult in all the semesters, but you get better at thinking critically! We have been thrown a few curve balls, but have survived so far :p I have to say Med Surge and OB have been my most favorite classes! I learned so much in Med Surge, and in OB, I LOVE L&D. it's hard, but also fun. I have made some excellent friends during this process and I know they will be lifelong friends. A few of us have been together, in every class, the last 3 semesters, and we have so much fun! I won't lie, there have been times I have cried and threatened to quit, but I'm still tuggin along!

I got accepted into the spring 2013 program. so excited to start! Going into it blind though, glad I tried researching the program itself and found this thread, so much information that it's nice to get a jump start on. I had no idea about this toolbox course! I signed up for the one in December, going to wait until orientation to sign up for the one in January.

I was curious if there was a facebook group for the spring 2013 course yet, and if someone could link me if there was.

Wow, so much conversation has gone on since I logged on! I feel like I'm missing out! Is anyone taking the toolbox course? I remember the lady telling us when we picked up paperwork not to register for any classes and wait till the 9th. I wonder if that includes the toolbox class everyone is talking about.

@SunshineDaisy Regarding uniforms, does our shoes have to be all white? I want to find comfortable shoes, and was wondering if they have to be a certain color. Thanks!

White shoes for Clinical. Any color for Lab, as well as scrubs. No dress code for lectures - 101 and Pharm.

So I just drove all the way across town to pay for my drug screen at the west charleston cashier only to find out that they do not accept credit/debit cards in person, only on MyCSN. Do yourself a favor if you're paying with credit/debit and do not drive all the way over there. Luckily I had cash on me so I wasn't too mad but I still drove across town for nothing! I don't understand why they let you pay for the TEAS there with a card but not the darn drug screen. Ugh... :/

I went to cheyenne thank goodness it was close to my house , but thats crazy because cheyenne accepts credit but not debit ... So if anyone is closer to cheyenne campus you can go there also :))

I asked if the "don't register for classes applies to the toolbox class and they said no- it's fine to register for the toolbox ?

Well, in my first semester I had ----------, and he said 75% white, but thats him! Other teachers will say completely white. Your 3rd week in ACE you will wear your uniform and your teacher will look over it to make sure everything is good. They will tell you what is ok for them or not!
