Hello All! So the time has come for a new thread for all of us applying for fall 2014. Anyone applying in March?
I want to know if they will let the people who don't get accepted know that they aren't. Because I applied knowing I wouldn't get in this semester because I am finishing my last two pre-reqs and I am going to take math 120 in the summer since I only found out recently that math 120 gets an extra 10 points. But I don't want to make any plans on the crazy chance that I do get accepted. Does anyone know if they will let us know?
I think you get a letter if your not accepted. A phone call if your in. That what they said at the application workshop. It wasn't clear when the letter is sent out but she said if its small hint 1 page, not a good sign! I would imagine its sent out around the same time that they call applicants.
Good luck:-))
I looked in my old emails from my acceptance (Spring '13). There were 147 total applicants for my group and they accepted about 112 I think. These numbers are for full-time and part-time.
In years past there were well over 300 applicants for the same "up to 136" spots. They did not increase the number of accepted students based on the number who applied. They only have a set amount of clinical sections available at all of the facilities and that number does not change based on the number of applicants. If anything, the amount of accepted students will continue to go down since there are so few clinical spots that CSN must compete for with all of the other nursing schools.
To add to what Christina said... They are scaling back the number of students accepted because CSN is receiving less and less clinical spots (this is more for 2nd semester and beyond). There are so many "nursing" programs that need clinical spots that CSN is fighting for a limited number of clinical placements.
My class started with 130 (FT & PT combined).
