Hi everyone!

Who among you guys are going to apply for the 2017 track? Either Spring or 2017!

What classes are u still doing? Have you guys attended the Health Orientation already? I'm about to attend mine tom! I'm transferring credits from other school, and looking at the degree sheet, I need to take 5 classes more so all the Prereqs and Gen Eds are all done (after the 5 class)

Lets help everyone whose trying to get in and might help each other out on whoever is trying to get in as well!

Good night

37 full time no memo. There is also a FB page "csn 2017 hopefuls " or something along that you can join. A lot of us that applied are on there . :)

Haha yah i'm on there too. But there aren't that many members in the group and I know more people applied :)

Can everyone post how many points they applied with and if they applied with a waiver or not? Thanks!

40 full time and no memo

I'll be applying for fall 17 without 224 or 251. Hopefully I'll stand a chance!

What KAT waiver? I did not know you could wave it. If so how please provide information on KAT waiver

It's not a waiver so you don't have to take the test. You still must take the test. It's just waiver that if you didn't "pass" with the standard scores. They let you still apply if you meet the new set of scores that they have on the waiver. I don't know if they're still giving the waivers out though, it may be something that's stopped.

For example:

I passed every category except science, but in my science category I got a 55 which qualifies for the waiver, so I can still apply for 2017 semester.

What are the scores required for the waiver? I am taking 224 now. I just don't want to have to take 224 and 251 while doing nursing classes. I think to do so is an overload. Unless once you get in you don't have to take them? But I am not sure how that will work out.

Were we supposed to have turned in a background check, TB test and other immunization records with our application? I did not see that anywhere on the check list.

We need that after we are accepted, right? We didn't need those for the application did we? My advisor didn't mention those for the application.

No, that's not part of the application packet. You'll need to complete them once you're accepted.

I can't wait for phone calls to start going out. 40 points, full time, no waiver/memo.

I've been scouring the boards and CSN website and every other random place I can find regarding the supposed CNA requirement for application. I decided to take a CNA course to fill in this empty semester between my last requirement and my (hopeful) first semester of nursing school, and one instructor insists that it will be made a requirement soon. The information on this thread says that requirement has been taken off the table entirely and today I am intending to drop the course.

Good luck to all of us. ^^

You don't need the CNA certification for now at least. Drop the CNA class. You can challenge the CNA test after you pass the first semester of nursing school. You can call the Nevada Nursing Board to confirm this. I called them a month ago to ask about challenging the LPN test after one year of nursing school, but they said they do not do this. They did say I could challenge the CNA test after my first semester, but I already passed the test and am working as a CNA.
