Hello,
I'm new to this site but am finding it really useful! I'm canadian but did my nursing degree in the UK, and I currently practicing in England. I'm due to sit the CRNE on the 7th October and have read some scary posts on its level of difficulty. I have the study guides and will continue to study for the next 8 weeks until I fly over to toronto to sit it. I'm extremely nervous....anybody got any further pointers for me????
I can't wait for my family to start our life in Canada pending me passing this exam (so no pressure Eh!)......and a new job in toronto would be great!!!!!
Good luck to all of those that are sitting it the same day as me!
The anticipation is coming to a climate.....................(drum roll)bloody hell....I PASSED!!!!!!!!
WHOOP
WHOOP.....i'm goin home baby!!!!!
Thanks for waiting for me!!!!!
yeehaw....congrats to all that passed........feels like i'm on top of the world!!!!
:up:CONGRATS....that was one long wait!!!! So happy for you!!!...and for all the successful passers!!!! It is such a relief...I am still feeling that way 2 weeks later. Never have to take that test again...yeah!!!!
I don't think that we've heard about anyone failing this time around. Could be an omen...
Before this thread is closed, I'd like to ask you something janfrn: what did you mean with the omen thing. IDK why but just thinking about omens spooks me a bit (maybe because of the movies, lol). At that time most of the posters waiting for their results were the Ontario writers, so OMG was I scared.
I'm very happy that most people who participated in this thread passed, congrats to all of us:jester:. I've also noticed that those who unfortunately failed opened other more specific threads.
helo co nurses!! has anyone here already took the CRNE lately? how was it?Compared to nclex? wat best material for review? are there venues for rv classes in CAnada, how long?
i am planning to apply but doubted much on my qualifications, i have my ielts already but dont have years of experience...it's quite hard to find a job here due to a sudden spurt of nurses everywhere...
is it true that we have to undergo some upgrading? say pass the competency exams esp. in BC bfore we become eligible to write d CRNE? do i still have a chance to write in some territories in Canada that nursing experience is optional?
PLs..give feedbacks..advice/suggestions..many thanks.

Petgroomer, what I meant was that with other post-exam threads, there had been a number of posts from those who were not successful well before the last group got their results. In each of those threads there were a significant number of unsuccessful posters. So my "omen" comment was intended to reflect that it seemed most of our members had passed and those who were still waiting were also likely to receive good news... a prognostication if you will. I'm not superstitious person at all. And it appears that my prognostication was correct; there does seem to be far fewer unsuccessful members this time around.

All of your questions have been asked and answered. Did you read any of the 376 posts in this thread that precede yours? Guess what... your answers are all in there.
Hello everyone,
I just wrote the exam in Oct 2009, got my results in the mail, got my registration number on the phone, but I wanted to know how long does it take to get the licence in the mail?
For those who wrote the exam in June, how long after you got your results and sent away your application did it take to get your package in the mail from CNO.
Work won't let me go back unless I have the stupid card to prove I am licensed, they won't take my registration number.
Thanks in advance

Are you saying you were working as a grad nurse prior to passing the CRNE and now your employer will not let you work until you recieve the registration? If so, what reason is the employer giving for not allowing you to continue on as a grad nurse until the registration card is received?

Hello CDNnewgrad,
I submitted my registration card to the CNO about 2 weeks ago and I got my registration number a few days ago. According to them once you have your number you can obtain employment, you do not need a hardcopy of your card. Also, if you go to the CNO website under 'find a nurse' you can see your registration number and your current status with the organization. We should get a hardcopy in the mail 15 business days after the CNO receives it, so we should be getting it very soon.
