CRNE 7th october

Published

Hello,

I'm new to this site but am finding it really useful! I'm canadian but did my nursing degree in the UK, and I currently practicing in England. I'm due to sit the CRNE on the 7th October and have read some scary posts on its level of difficulty. I have the study guides and will continue to study for the next 8 weeks until I fly over to toronto to sit it. I'm extremely nervous....anybody got any further pointers for me????

I can't wait for my family to start our life in Canada pending me passing this exam (so no pressure Eh!)......and a new job in toronto would be great!!!!!

Good luck to all of those that are sitting it the same day as me!:nurse:

I'm sure janfrn won't put this thread to bed since you haven't got your result yet especially that it's you who started this :) Good luck DEMS!

i've got my fingers crossed that they will arrive on monday!!!!!

Thursday was one of the best days of my life! My very first nursing paycheck and I passed!!! Congratulations to all of you who passed and DEMS I surely hope you get yours soon, the waiting game can be pretty stressing and detrimental to your mailman! As for those who didn't pass, keep on trucking! What may help you is the uoft prep course. That is what I took for the weekend and it really focuses not so much on knowledge but the format of the exam and how to answer the questions they ask you, what key words to look for in questions. They give you a mock exam in the end and they will email you what you did well in and what to focus on. I took it before I touched my nursing books and I improved my marks by the end of the course. The way I studied was going to the library almost every day and studying for 3-8 hrs for three weeks. I read the whole mosby prep guide first then I did an mock exam every day for 10 days and took it up afterwards. A study buddy really helps because they can be experts at what your not especially great at. Do mock exams together and take it up after. Used the crne prep and readiness test and mosbys Review and the mosby book with three exams. It wasn't easy, i think I had a panic attack three days before. But I dedicated three solid weeks to the crne and what I really had to drill in my head is what does the cna want me to answer as opposed to what is really done in practice. I hope this helps and good luck!!!

No worries, DEMS. I usually wait at least a week after the last "WOO HOO" or "Woe is me" post before I close the thread. We'll wait for you!

Lovely....thank you...

i know how you feel! the February one will be my third attempt as well and I really needed some advice as well. I'm from Alberta.

In response to Kay_84, I know this was your second unsuccessful attempt:

1) What prep-course did you take?

2) Did you use the CRNE prep-book or CD?

3) Were you part of a study group?

4) Did you use the mosby's prep-book?

I can give you some tips if you give some answers to these questions

I've been following this trend and unlike most of you I don't have an exciting news to share like Kay_84. I'm from Alberta and the February one will be my last attempt as well to pass the exam. I would really appreciate if you could give me some useful/helpful tips please, please, please! thanks very much in advance!
