CRNE June 2012

Published

Anyone started to prepare for CRNE June 2012?

anyone know for sure what the pass mark was...? I've never heard 550 before because there were only 200 questions on the exam...im not familiar with marking scheme...124 is still pretty high compared to the previous pass marks of 120, 114...

It was previously posted that the pass mark is 550/800 (modified scale score) which equates to ~ 69%. Assuming there were 20 experimental questions, one could deduce that the raw pass score is around 124 ('ish) :)

wow!!! that's really hight!!! now i'm nervous! geez! some genius might have taken the exam last june 6 exam!

124/180 that's record breaking! the highest in the trend before was 121.

My apologies as per my previous post that 550/800 = 68.75%

I was looking at normal distribution and saw that scaled score of 550 co-relates to that percent (see here):

But this is not taking into account that CNA states their 550 passing standard equates to anywhere from 59-68% depending on difficulty of exam. The raw score required to achieve 550 scaled score would be as low as 106/180 for exam with 59% passing percent (difficult version) and as high as 124/180 for exam which was easiest possible version.

Since we are not being told the raw score or percent needed to pass, then we can not know for sure what it is. It can be anywhere from 106 up to 124.

Does anybody think the CNA would give the passing mark out over the phone...??

If I remember rightly no they will not tell you over the phone

For Alberta writers, CARNA does have the results from Ottowa - they should be mailed at the end of the week, then we're just waiting on the postal system to deliver the results! Next week!!!

Is it possible for them to tell the status? I wonder if CNO will respond to that question. Well, all the best to all
Hi FaithfulWell I have my resume ready just hoping I can fill in the blank space - passes crne. There are jobs out there, I will probably look at OB since I also am a midwife, so fingers crossed as there will be a lot of new RNs. I did get CNO to send me an application to resit CRNE in Oct incase I do not get my results before we leave for Europe on 21 July to 4 Aug, cut off is 23 July I think. How about you, where do you live?Olga
Here in the GTA. Hope all goes well. I wonder if CNO will tell us if the results have been received yet and the anticipated mailing period. Well will be waiting faith-fully and prayerfully. Enjoy your trip. Are you going to the Olympics?

Thanks Sister of Eluria for the update - so probably within 7 days we will have results in Alberta. This waiting period has been an awful experience!

CNO plans to mail the results out by the end of the week. So it's another wait for us in Ontario!
