Anyone started to prepare for CRNE June 2012?

Sister of Eluria: Thank-you for your encouraging words. I mean you are right its still an amazing thing to have come this far. Its also amazing to have even been given the opportunity to go to University because I know many that tried for years and never were able to get in. I have tried not to get too worked up over this because I know that it will all work out in the end. I am just so nervous because I have my dream job on the line right now given that I pass this exam and could potentially have set myself up for full time employment. I mean if I fail it wouldn't be the worse thing to happen, I've grown up a lot since being in this program especially in my last semester of school. I have learned to appreciate what happens because everything happens for a reason. I've learned that when I think something is bad I think back to the patient's that I cared for and think to myself it could be so much worse. It's sad what our patients go through and failing this exam I guess would just be a minor set back in comparison to what many of the patient's and families we care for are going through.

Congratulations to all of you who have already passed, get out there now and look for jobs :D You are Registered Nurses!

Congratulations to all who have received good news, it must be so nice just to know so you can now start to get on with life again. Lets hope CNO get things together and we can get our results before the end of the week, fingers, toes crossed!!!

I heard at least 5 people in my class failed. One said the pass mark is 550

Grant total vl be180, usually the pass mark vl be in a range of 60% to70% of grand total.

Feb2012 it was-120

Specializes in Obstetric and Gynaecology.

i am still confused with 550?

Specializes in Pediatrics, Mother-Baby and SCN.

I know, no one really knows what 550 means that I know of. That's why I wasn't going to post it first, but because so many asked i figured I would. She just said they told her she needed 550 points to pass and she was a few short of that. Each question is worth a certain amount. They likely then reduce that down... There is really not much good to try to think of the points, percentage, etc. Just cross your fingers and wait. I don't think anyone can figure out if they passed or failed until they get the letter :)

Halifax results were sent out today and I PASSED!!! All of my classmates were getting their results and I didn't find out right away, so I phoned the College of Registered Nurses and in their exact words "Those who hold temporary licenses and were not successful writers of the CRNE were telephoned last week." On Friday there were 223 temporary licenses on the website and today there were 202, so it looks like 21 were pulled. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting for your results.

Hi guys, here is a link for the CNA where they explain the 550 score (scaled score) required to pass.

Rewriting the CRNE | CNA – AIIC

It appears it is 550/800 so that is 68.75%. I am guessing this is the 550 referred to a few posts ago. Hope this helps.

Still waiting and getting more anxious each day for my result. Here's hoping this week we get news here in Ontario!!

p.s. Congrats to all who already got their letters and passed. Also congrats to everyone who managed to get through to earning degrees regardless of pass/fail on CRNE, it is a great accomplishment. (Never need to hear the words 'APA format' ever again..)

68.75%? Would it be out of 180 questions then? Because 20 is experimental? This scaled score is confusing ah.

I know it is really too confusing. I don't know if experimental questions count either.

So far I have a list of at least 20 questions I know that I answered wrong so what are odds they were all experimental and not going to count. haha, wishful thinking.

I found a site where they show how raw scores converted to scaled:

Congratz..all those who pass!

Everybody need to get 550 in order to pass a CrnE test. It is a modified scale, it called scaled score. Very complicated to explain. In order to be fair for the writers from setting to setting, the final pass score must be above 550 after a few combined matter to calculate the difficulty of the test scoring on each test paper.

Congratulations to all those who have seen their results so far. for those who are still waiting- the very best.
