No one is bringing anyone down. I was offering advice based on strategies that I know work. Perhaps some of you have different ideas, and that's fine too. However, some people reading this thread now and in future may be genuinely interested in proven methods of success regarding this exam. I have actually had a couple of people private message me, which is fine too. While everyone learns differently, there still ARE proven methods of passing the exam. That's why those prep guides are printed. In any case, it doesn't really matter. Take it or leave it.

Study the CRNE prep guide really well because the questions are so simliar to it. It really helps. The best way is to go over one question and whether or not you got it correct, check the rationale, then move on to the next. Don't do it in a row and then check in intervals or at the end because it' doesn't sink in as well.

I wish I spent more time on the CRNE prep guide rather than the other review texts.

I also found a really helpful CRNE review pdf file (2006) that's 357 pages and really comprehensive - goes over all the body systems, labs, pharmacology and nursing procedures. It was too big to add here as attachment but if you pm me your email I will send it to you.

Good luck.

It wasn't as bad as I thought.

I guess good preparation coupled wth good multiple question-taking skill/strategy should be part of the proven method that works. Good preparation is then left for each individual to define. However, in the end, what matters the most is passing the CRNE. The end justifying the means in individualist with CRNE exam.

Thanks Indigo for sharing. Would it be possible for you to give the link to the pdf document so one can access and download?

I was looking at the posts from Feb 2010 exam and some people reported receiving results starting March 6. I don't not know what to expect from the exam I am too hoping that I will pass. I keep looking on CARNA to see if my conditions (passing of the exam) has been cleared but no luck yet. I am not even sure if they would clear it in their system prior to us receiving the marks either way I keep checking. Good luck everyone.

Most likely by Monday the results will begin to reach people. I hope it will be favourable. All the best every result-expectant!

PEI. Just yesterday.

Prince Edward Island graduates a MAXIMUM of 74 nurses per year. That means that perhaps 25 people write the CRNE each time it's offered. That is why PEI has their results. PEI is not a significant destination for IENs so the number of those candidates would be very small. There may be 2 or 3 people who failed the exam there this time out, given that the pass rate for Canadian nursing graduates is >90%. Of the people who were not successful in PEI, there may be ONE who is a member here. There is no guarantee that ALL unsuccessful candidates are told their actual score compared to the passing mark, there's also no guarantee that the ONE AN member who might be out there with a failing result will know what the passing mark is. So simply because PEI has their results already signifies nothing as far as this board is concerned. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia candidates should have their results early in the coming week since their numbers of writes will be the next smallest in the pool, followed by Newfoundland and Labrador, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and finally, Ontario.

The greater portion of the waiting time is over. There results will be out any time soon - may be next week. The Feb 2 exam was my last having been unsuccessful on the two previous attempts. I am waiting anxiously for what the outcome would be. I hope it goes well this time around. BUT if not, what is the consequence? Does anybody know the answer to that question?

I'm in the same situation as you. I spoke with CNO before writing the exam in feb. They told me if you fail all 3 times, you can apply to write the RPN exam or try to appeal for a 4th chance. However you need an extremely good reason why you did not pass the 3rd time eg. death of family member, going through divorce proceedings etc.

Hope this was somewhat helpful,

Good Luck to All!!!

thanks lovelivelearn for the information you provided. i pray that it would not get to the point where we will have to appeal for the 4th chance or apply for the rpn exam. i hope the result will favour all in similar situations and all that wrote the exam. i am crossing my fingers and fighting really hard to push off anxiety and panic attack. let's wait and see what happens. but i know that it is well!
