Hi all
:typing I sat the exam yesterday 8th October.....and now we play the waiting game, why it has to take so long is any ones guess, The NCLEX you know your reslts 2 days after if you pay, but then again its computerised....maybe the CRNE should be like that. I sat the CRNE last year 2007 after arriving in Calgary to live from the UK... and I failed it. So keeping everything crossed this time round. I was also suprised that when I opened up both the books there were some of the exact same questions as last year. Good luck to everyone........
I agree - the readiness test is NOT a good indicator for the exam. I thought it was the most gruelling day I've ever had in my life. The test was really hard - sooooo many answers came down to 50-50's where both answers said the same thing! It was NASTY!!!When I studied for N-CLEX I learned so much, it made me a better nurse - but this - this is just a stamina test & pure luck as far as I can see. Everyone I spoke to was saying the same thing. No-one (Canadian or International) could see how it would make them a better nurse.
I just ended the day with a splitting headache & feeling very down.
I really agree with you. I felt the same way. There is not much questions that test your medical knowledge as a nurse... and the choices are sooo similar. I felt my exam is just 50/50 and the readiness test is soo much easier than the real one. Most terrible day of my life, after my exam i had terrible headache.
i almost gave up in answering the test booklet 2 because the questions were horrible. i kept on praying the entire afternoon for guidance and strength just to survive the agony of answering the exam. when i arrived home, i felt so exhausted and i didn't have any energy to do anything else. but despite all the negative thoughts and feelings we have to experience, let us focus our eyes on God and surrender the result of the exam to Him. May the Lord bless us all!
I found book 1 harder but I know that there were different books given out. Book 2 was my better one but maybe you got my book 1 as your book 2!!
I'm already beating my head over questions I know I stupidly answered wrongly - WHY can't you think straight durting an exam!!!?
BTW - how do you guys know the marks you needed to get or missed passing by? From what I've read it's a "pass" or "fail" exam & I can't find anywhere on the CNA site that says any more than past pass rates varied from 59-68%.
i feel so bad about my RN exam, especially book 2. I have no clue if I did well enough... Some of the questions: options made me confused... I felt exausted at the end of the day... I am not sure what to do if I fail... really don't know how to prepare for it again...
Wish all of you good luck... :heartbeat

If you pass, the letter from CNO will say "Pass", but if you fail, the letter will give your mark and the mark that you have needed to pass and your weak parts.
im with you guys.
except that i found BOOK 1 to be sooo BRUTAL! i cant believe i spent almost 5 minutes in just 1 question for me understand it very well and process it my "already whacked brain". lol. seriously, it was really tough answering all those "what is the nurse's best response" questions... oh well...
best of luck to all of us!

Yup! I know what you mean too. After talking to my friends they all said the same thing. I honestly don't know how I did. With this type of exam, its really hard to tell. I mean some of the questions were making me wonder how they even came up with it. Its their job to confuse you and they sure did a great job!! I cried too..lol..I just couldn't keep it in me anymore. I worked really hard and honestly did everything I could, but at this point I just don't know what the outcome will be. I don't have it in me to write this exam again. It was hard enough to motivate myself to study the second time and I was able to do so because of the wonderful support system that I have. I guess now its just a waiting game and I have a feeling we won't get the results until mid to late Nov :uhoh21:
