CRNA mentorship

Hello everyone,

I have been a CRNA for 8 years and last December I got promoted to Associate Chief CRNA in a Level 1 Trauma Center. I have been thinking about creating a mentorship program to help RNs to get into anesthesia school, survive school, and also to transition to their CRNA career.
Would that be helpful? Please let me know your opinion.

Thanks.

I’ve found online information helpful, but it’s always most beneficial to learn about war by talking to soldiers who’ve fought in the trenches.  And that could help us through the PTSD of school ;).  I joke, but I’d actually love to hear more about what you had in mind? Any advice is welcome!

I agree mentoring is vital.

CRNA School Prep Academy helps aspiring students and current students navigate ? how to gain acceptance as well as the rigors of school

curious what your mentoring program involves ?

love to connect with fellow CRNA’s who love mentoring

All the best.

Mentoring is great, especially if it is beneficial to get into CRNA school. I was fortunate enough to get through mentorship program at my hospital to get 82 hours of shadowing. To be honest with you: they are right in part "anesthesia 98% boredom". ? but it was very interesting and if you'll find great and passionate mentors those future mentees would be happy campers. Good luck with this endeavor, you are doing a great thing!

I wish this was available when I was trying to get into CRNA School. I am currently an SRNA and I think this is a fantastic idea. When ever I brought up  CRNA school, every nurse around me trying to get into a program went silent. No one was willing to talk about the application process and how hard it is to even get ready to apply for CRNA school. CRNA programs are hard enough as it is and anything that can help ease the stress, such as a mentor, is fantastic.

I think many CRNAs are more than willing to help RNs with questions about CRNA programs.  Feel free to PM myself or anyone here and I think we would all be willing to help out.

I think this is a wonderful idea. My daughter is currently in a BSN program with hopes of becoming a CRNA in the future. I plan to help her all I can but hearing about other nurses journey & tips for gaining admission would be tremendously beneficial.

Hello,

I think this would be an awesome and very helpful opportunity. I am currently an Active Duty military soldier but am working toward applying to CRNA schools as soon as this Spring. I would absolutely love any and all help/ advice that I could get to make my packet competitive against the peers and to get accepted into school as well as advice on how to succeed through school!

No, I'd definitelyyyy want to be apart of this! I'm actively looking for a CRNA mentor as an aspiring SRNA. If you're still offering this please email me! [email protected]

I would love to get more insight. ?

I'm currently in school now to complete my RN. I've always wanted to become a CRNA in the future and I would love to have a mentor to guide me. Please contact me if you're willing to mentor me [email protected]

I am currently in the process of applying, have received a couple of interviews and have since been rejected. I have an interview coming up in a few weeks and would absolutely love a mentor through this process!
