This is an actual ad for a nursing job (no I am not kidding):
We are in need of a Nurse (Retired but Energetic is Ok) for our busy (edited, edited) location. Hours are M / T / TH / 9AM to 6PM and Fridays 9AM to 4PM. Some benefits.
:yeah:you have got to be kidding. What do they want and old Mare?

Not sure why this is 'crazy'....they're saying they're not discriminating because of age, and 3 days off per week, with daytime hours-no weekends, won't get hospital benefits, but the hours themselves are a perk.
A lot of old mares still work, and run circles around the 'fillies' with their vast experience. :)
THAT was what was funny. So looking at this ad, if I was retired but "tired" then I guess this job would not be for me. IDK it cracks me up (I'm in my 40's).
Really xt, you usually are one I can count on, now come on here!

I don't get it either.
Lot's of ageism in our society. What's crazy about welcoming a retired nurse to apply?

Maybe he/she will be dealing with senior citizens and the office thinks it is a plus.

I bet it would be a fun place to work. They seem to have a sense of humor.
Still funny and I am old.
Yeah, OK.... it is unconventional, and to the point :)
There ya go.
