Per tge EC website, it states that the cpne application takes 2 months to process and when done your test ate will be 5-8 months away.... For an estimate of 7-10months?? Is this right??

When I first enrolled, the academic advisor told me the wait for CPNE date would be 7 months (this was back in 2009). I know that K3104 got her date much sooner than 2 months, and others too. Joanne, the instructor for EPN, as well as a workshop host, states the busier testing centers wait is a good 4-5 months. I am praying for a date much, much sooner.

What loops said. It really depends on how busy they are though. There seem to be influxes of applications a few times a year and things slow down. Right now they seem to be much expeditious regarding the whole processing of packets and getting dates. Mind you calling them tends to help everything i've noticed. Left to their own devices they seem to forget about me... Also note it's faster if you upload your paperwork as opposed to mailing.

my first cpne wait was only 2 months total....I failed. Now my second wait will be 2 months also but not at my preferred site. That would have been a four month wait so I chose another location.

You will test when you want, BELIEVE me! I got the exact date I used as my "ready to test" date. I probably would have gotten an earlier one if I would have put myself on the cancellation list.
Call who? My EC Advisor right? I have never even called so I have no idea who mine is!
May I ask what happened the first go round? I am so scared Ill fail!!

dslpn-- I know quite a few people in the program on the facebook site who have applied to the NPAC and gotten their dates within 2 days of their application.... my advisor has recommended to me that I apply here to get a date more quickly. She said that Atlanta, Savannah and Naples have the longest wait besides Texas. I only know of two that have gotten dates for the MPAC and one who got one in the SPAC via cancellation.
Your advisor is the person who e-mails you when you pass your tests. Mine is awesome, she always puts the nicest comments on my transcripts, and I have pretty much sent her pages of questions and she always gets back to me so quick. If you go into your message center and just on the first drop down box click down (Next to where it says AD nursing) and click on the subject, you will send your advisor a message :-)
What are you planning to put as your ready date?

I never get comments in mine, boo! lol......Mine states ASN nursing I believe vs AD nursing. I have been trying to review my new status update since I passed LS2, and I get to the page you mentioned, and it keeps asking me for a password in a pop up. (sorry, didn't mean to derail thread).
Sorry to hear about this! Did you do a workshop? How far away is the new site for you? When are you testing next? Good luck on your next attempt :)
Honestly I have no idea what date to put! I have FCCA to do and I have to finish/pass that first right? How do you determine when to do it? I want to do a workshop, but can not fly anywhere to do one right now. I heard of a few online ones that are supposedly good- sherry's i think it was. If I finish FCCA and pass by end of May, apply for CPNE date for end of July??? No idea! Still figuring out how it all works!
I think they recommend atleast 8 weeks of prep for the CPNE, but I believe you can submit your application for it at or around the same time you send in your FCCA, as long as you put a down payment.
I am going to do Shari's online workshop also and Rob's DVD... I have Shari's study guide already and wow does it help make sense of the monster one EC puts out. One of my friends locally is going to her in person workshop next month. We are going to practice assessments and labs together when he gets back and critique each other. (Rebecca you are invited too of course!!!!)
I have been working on my labs (w/the exception of IV drip rate---waiting for my tubing to get here) and made my boyfriend who is an ICU RN critique them all... he said he couldn't think of anything bad to say... yet.. LMAO. I'm sure once I start on the assessments that will change. I am going to practice peds assessment on my son, he's 18 months and getting a patient his age or younger is actually kind of my worst nightmare.
I am going to put my ready date as August 1st... I know I can be ready by then. I am just going to have to eat, sleep and breathe the labs and PCS's.... and sell a couple purses to get to NY!! If any one else is traveling and we happen to get the same site and dates, I would be stoked. I need someone I can split taxi/hotel fees with to save $.
