Cpcc nursing program 2016

Published

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone was applying for spring 2016 admissions for the RN program at CPCC?

If if so could you share your points and teas scores.

havent taken teas yet but take on July 21st really hoping to get good score . Also does classes in progress count as far as points I have everything except English 114 & math I have around (15 points ) I took stats but I'm not sure if it's acceptable .

Thanks in advance ☺️

Can this thread be moved to NC forum ??? I selected the wrong area .

Hi!

I'm starting the nursing program at CPCC this fall. The most important thing is to get your TEAS score at or above the required mark. If you have most of your pre-reqs done that helps too. Good luck!

Thank you . May I ask what your teas score was ?

I can't remember exactly, somewhere around 88%. I know some made it in with scores just at the cut score though. Don't worry too much about it, just study and take it understanding the cut scores for each subject. You can only miss 4 questions (I think) on the reading portion, so focus on those types of questions so that you meet the required scores.

Good luck!

Thanks for posting this thread. I'm taking the TEAS on the 22nd. Would be really interested to know what people are getting in with. I also heard applications are processed on a first come first serve basis. Wonder if we are at a disadvantage applying late?

I don't think they are on a first come first serve basis but I take the teas July 25 I changed the date . I'm hoping I can make high enough to get in . I think we are a tad late but I think our application will still get looked at . Have you been studying ? Or taken it before ?

My friend started spring of this year and she got in with a 77% overall 90 in reading & 75 I believe in math .

Good luck on your TEAS test! My advice is to try to be well-rested and watch the timers in each section. I took it twice because the first time I didn't watch the time for the math section so missed too many. I didn't realize each section is timed separately.

I submitted my app on Tuesday and am trying to just put it out of my mind now (not working.)

My score was 85.7 overall, with math at 76 and reading 95. I found the science part most challenging and studied a lot for that!

Just submitted my application, crossing my fingers!

I had to take the test twice too. Ran out of time on the reading portion the first time. Science was definitely a challenge. Much of it was educated guesses for me after studying a bunch for it.

My scores ended up being 95.2% in Reading and 80% in Math, 86.7% overall. My point value out of their ranking system of 50 was 44.19 since I took a bunch of the prereqs, so that certainly helps.

My recommendation to anyone studying for the TEAS is to do as many practice tests as you can. The ones you have to pay for from ati are best because they look exactly like the real test, and you get in the mindset of what the test is looking for out of each section. It also tells you the rational of why you got each answer right or wrong. Getting used to the timing is also important.

Good luck everyone!

I'm really hoping they extend the deadline for spring I'm not going to make the July 31st deadline :(

That's great ! I hope you get in . Don't stress yourself your teas score is pretty good . Did you mainly do the Ati study guides to prepare yourself ?
