Cpcc nursing program 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone was applying for spring 2016 admissions for the RN program at CPCC?

If if so could you share your points and teas scores.

havent taken teas yet but take on July 21st really hoping to get good score . Also does classes in progress count as far as points I have everything except English 114 & math I have around (15 points ) I took stats but I'm not sure if it's acceptable .

Thanks in advance ☺️

That's great ! I hope you get in . Don't stress yourself your teas score is pretty good . Did you mainly do the Ati study guides to prepare yourself ?

Yes I used the study guide from ATI. I also took the two online ati tests which were good but do NOT shut you out of each section when time is up. Also used the rand McNally study guide and looked up science topics on the internet.

Best of luck to you and thanks for your kind words to me.

mluckyb85 - have you heard anything yet? Waiting is driving me crazy and making me feel pessimistic :(

I may be overly optimistic, but judging by some of the posts I've read, it seems like if you meet the minimum TEAS requirements you have a really good shot at getting in. Last year they had to delay admissions because they did not have enough people who met the min TEAS requirement, so instead of lowering their expectations, they just waited for more applicants with the scores they were looking for.

Since you are well over the min requirement, I think it is safe to feel confident in your status. Have you completed any courses towards the program? Like Anatomy and Physiology, Math, English..? Having those done will also help solidify your application status and lighten your load through the program itself.

As soon as I get my letter or email I'll post to let you know, but I believe it will take 2 - 3 weeks from the application deadline before we hear anything. So at the very soonest, we may hear back by this Friday!

In the meantime, I'd proceed as if I was already accepted. If you haven't already done CPR, go ahead and register for that. Register for any remaining classes you might want to take before January, start thinking about financials.. It'll be a good distraction and you'll be more organized once the good news arrives :)

Good luck!

Thanks for the optimism, mluckyb85. I did complete A&P I, the general Psychology, MAT 171, and English. Taking A&P II, developmental Psychology and music elective this fall. Completed the CPR along with CNA class, so hopefully will be in good shape if I'm accepted for Spring term. Good luck to you! Hope to meet you at orientation :)

So, it looks like everyone is still waiting to hear...I'm going crazy!

Yes me too! Just started my A&P II class and trying not to check my email constantly. I hope we will be notified soon.

This Friday will be week #3. Patricia from admissions told me we should expect a decision within 2 - 3 weeks. Has anyone heard any different?

That's the same information I was told. The anticipation is rough!

No, I checked in with her after I submitted my application, and she said 2 to 3 weeks.

Only 2 more days until we find out! Yay!

In the meantime, is anyone planning on working through school once accepted? I have heard it's not advised but I was thinking of looking into something that may help build my resume. Maybe working as a CNA? My current job, although it pays decent, is not healthcare related and is not flexible so I wont be able to keep it. Interested in what others are planning to do? Work a bit, tough it out on loans? Other?

Also, anyone planning to go straight through to BSN once ASN is complete?

Waiting is definitely tough! I hope you're right that it is only two more days. From the threads here it looks like last year's applicants (for Spring 2015 start) did not get notified until Sept 19-20th :( But they were talking about getting snail mail packets, not email.

I actually quit my IT job last December to go back to school. Don't think I can manage working at the same time. My situation is probably different than most because I'm older (or perhaps just old.) Using retirement savings for the expense, which is a risk but what the heck. CPCC is the most affordable option I've seen in this area.

I've considered trying to get a CNA job for this fall, but may need to travel some to care for my elderly mom so haven't seriously applied anywhere yet.

As for the BSN, I doubt I'll do that. I'll be thrilled to achieve RN with an AS! However, you never know.

Back to nail-biting....

I really hope we find out this week! I could use some (hopefully) good news. I work a full time 8-5 that I will have to leave. I can't go without any income so I am trying to decide to work as a CNA or go back to waiting tables...
