Cooks Children's Pediatric Nursing Residency July 2016

Published

Hey!

I am starting a thread for the July 2016 Cohort at Cook Children's! Does anyone who has interviewed or been accepted for prior cohorts have any advice that can help with the interview or the whole process in general? Getting the job will mean the world to me and I really want to do well. Any advice is truly appreciated

Thank you!!!

I think email. Has anyone heard anything today?

I interviewed and have not heard anything... expecting bad news, but why is it taking so long?!

I emailed them early this morning asking if they were still making final decisions or not. No response yet :/

Thanks for letting me know. If you hear, will you pass it on?

Yes I definitely will. I usually get a response fairly quickly. Not sure what's going on.

I called (couldn't wait any longer!) and asked if all final decisions had been made. The person I spoke to was unsure, but told me that they are running behind. She told me that every applicant will be notified soon even if we are not given an offer.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for y'all! If I get any additional information, I will be sure to update here.

Thanks for the info!!! Crossing my fingers also!

They are waiting for feedback from those that were extended offers to see if there are still available spots. I don't believe they are offering positions in the October cohort. It is usually a separate application/interview process for each cohort.

I was called this morning and was offered a spot in the October cohort! I will be doing the critical care track. Excited to meet anyone who was offered that cohort as well!

Great! I am happy for you!!! I got the rejection email yesterday... : (

I got rejected to this week. However, I was not sad at all. The people who interviewed me were so unfriendly. I felt like they disliked me the moment I walked in the room. Only one of them smiled the entire interview. I never feel uncomfortable in interviews but I left there knowing 100% for sure I did not have that job. I never even got to talk about myself, at all. So, maybe a rejection letter is a blessing in disguise.

I had the same experience. There was no "tell us about yourself" or why did you choose nursing". It was all negative behavioral questions. And only one was smiling and looking at me. The other two were just taking notes. It didn't feel like they ever tried to get to know me. I was very disappointing.
