Cooks Children's Pediatric Nursing Residency July 2016

Hey!

I am starting a thread for the July 2016 Cohort at Cook Children's! Does anyone who has interviewed or been accepted for prior cohorts have any advice that can help with the interview or the whole process in general? Getting the job will mean the world to me and I really want to do well. Any advice is truly appreciated

I am so glad you started this thread because I was going to start one soon haha!!! I also plan on applying for the July 2016 cohort!! from previous threads, I have read that the interview is quite tough. They ask behavioral type questions and then there is a case study portion.

It is so nerve wrecking knowing that the application is going to open up soon! I heard the interview process is tough. I wonder how other nursing residents stood out and what made them competitive?

Yes, I heard it was tough too!! Do you live in Tx or from out of state? Im in NC and just hoping that I will be able to stand out somehow! I plan on applying for the critical care track. What about you?

I just want a change and i have some family in texas. But i love how this residency program you can rotate through different units and shadow other professionals, so unique and not offered with a lot of other residency programs. But its just nerve wrecking when i read up on the posts from previous residents and applicants lol !

I have a list of other hospitals in tx that I plan on applying to as a back up plan! So im praying something will work out! Do you know how much the starting pay is at Cook?

CMC-Dallas? Yes I did. I haven't heard back from anyone though :(. Some other people have already received phone calls to do a video interview, but I haven't. Wbu?
