Hey!
I am starting a thread for the July 2016 Cohort at Cook Children's! Does anyone who has interviewed or been accepted for prior cohorts have any advice that can help with the interview or the whole process in general? Getting the job will mean the world to me and I really want to do well. Any advice is truly appreciated
Thank you!!!
I just had my Skype interview for critical care. I feel like I failed the scenario questions! Ugh there was really no way to prepare for it.
Mine wasn't a case study really. She gave me a patient scenario and I had to make judgment calls for four different questions about the patient.
I just hope I earned enough points during the first part of the interview, which is where I felt like I had the most control over what I was saying...haha
Yes absolutely riRN16. Looking back and reflecting, it wasn't really that hard! It was hard in the moment because I was so stressed. Now, I am able to compose a much better answer lol but too late! Sheesh, it probably looked like I learned nothing on school!
As for the number of questions before that, I don't remember but more than the scenario portion. Maybe 8-10? They are behavioral, so like, "Tell me about a time...."
I forgot to say that no, they are not hard. Just google some behavioral based interview questions and have good, solid stories for them. I wrote down significant experiences and then was able to apply those to some of their questions. Some though caught me a little off guard but maybe I'm a good improviser...until I get a patient scenario/case question...
Had my interview today! The case study was somewhat difficult, but they were so nice! And now the waiting begins......

Hi everyone :) Congratulations to those who got an interview, and good luck! To those of you who have it on Monday/Tuesday, please let me know how it goes. I have mine on Wednesday and I am beyond nervous just thinking about it.
