  1. Hi all, I recently dislocated my shoulder (anterior) in a ski accident, also worth noting being my dominant right arm. I know that I have an associated Hill-Sachs fracture/deformity on x-ray and am awaiting my orthopedic surgery consult this upcoming Tuesday. My question is who has experienced this type of dislocation? Were you able to return to work with a weight restriction and PT? Or did you require surgery? I work in a pediatric CVICU so patients can be as small as 2-3kg. Appreciate any advice whether personal experience or someone close to you.
  2. I would also like to say I'm sorry y'all had that experience. I am from around the area so I was aware going into the interview that there would be an intimidating atmosphere. But please don't let this effect your view of Cook Children's or their employees. It is an absolutely amazing place (I have had clinicals there) and a wonderful reputation not just in DFW but Texas and the nation. To anyone who may read this applying to future cohorts (I know I certainly read all of the old cohort threads :) ), don't be discouraged!! It is a difficult interview with lots of behavioral questions and there isn't a "tell us about yourself" question because that was the point of the essay portion of the application process, but interviews aren't supposed to necessarily be easy! Apply, see what happens, and you may end up at an amazing place. I wish everyone luck in the future, no matter where that puts you! We're all nurses together after all!
  3. I was called this morning and was offered a spot in the October cohort! I will be doing the critical care track. Excited to meet anyone who was offered that cohort as well!
  4. I think email. Has anyone heard anything today?
  5. Through the grapevine. I'm from the area and I know someone offered either cohort and then someone who was offered October but not July. Apparently there was a very large number of applicants for the July cohort.
  6. ppRN2016, which track did you apply to? Did they offer you July or October? I heard that the July cohort is full now and they are only offering October. I know calls have been happening since yesterday and throughout the day today but no one has received rejection emails yet.
