Now that Allnurses is finally back up and running (?), I thought I would start a board for those of us applying to the July 2019 cohort at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas! I haven't sent in my application yet as I am finalizing my application but I thought this would be a great place to ask questions and exchange information.

Thank you for starting this thread! I submitted my application last week and am praying for an interview! Which track are you interested in?

yay! I'm happy someone responded. hopefully more applicants reply as well. I haven't 100% decided which track I am going to apply for but I am learning toward med-surg. I would love picu or nicu but med-surg has childhood cancer which I am interested in as well and I also feel like critical care will have a much higher level of interest and I would really like a position at cook children's. I don't have a specific specialty that I am most interested in so med-surg would expose me to a lot and help me get an idea of what specialty I may want to move into after the residency. what about you?

For those that have already submitted applications, did you get any sort of follow up email? Or will they wait until the application window closes to begin reviewing applications?

I emailed them after I submitted everything to make sure they received it all. They said they did and told me good luck... I think we will have to wait until the application closes for them to start reaching out about interviews!

I emailed them my resume, transcripts and essay and have not yet received an email back. I sent it in on the 30th so hopefully I hear some kind of confirmation!

It took about a week to get a confirmation on them receiving my transcript, resume, essay and LOR 1. I am waiting for the second confirmation for my second recommendation.
