Health care advances in Cuba
According to the Associated Press as cited in the Post article, "Cuba has made recent advancements in biotechnology and exports its treatments to 40 countries around the world, raking in an estimated $100 million a year. ... In 2004, the U.S. government granted an exception to its economic embargo against Cuba and allowed a California drug company to test three cancer vaccines developed in Havana."

I saw the CNN interview with MM. What a lovely job he did with Wolf Blitzer and Sanjay Gupta (who annoyed me very much with his flighty nursing shortage coverage a few years ago). I loved how he kept demanding an apology from CNN re his Fahrenheit 911 movie and the war in Iraq. Check out the interview -I saw it on youtube. I still can't see a liar and a hypocrite in this guy - I just see someone very angry at the injustice in this country and skilled enough to make his point. But then I don't have my head buried in the sand.
I thought the interview went well and that Moore handled things nicely.
I will never refer to moore as MM. I remember those initials as only belonging to Marilyn Monroe. He bears no resemblance to her at all.
I'm not approving of what he did, but it was a different time and it wasn't illegal, immoral perhaps but that's a different discussion. Just b/c we don't like some of the things our leaders did (and do) does not make them illegal.
Interesting, so with that same mindset, that same "it was a different time", "it wasn't illegal, immoral perhaps" thinking, then I guess Adolf Hitler killing millions in death cames wasn't so bad because , "it was a different time" and because "it wasn't illegal, immoral perhaps". It certainly wasnt illegal in Germany for the Nazis to murder their opponents and it happened at a different time.
Maybe we should Impeach Him
I have a better idea, how about instead of kids being taught a euro-centric, elitist history, how about if kids are taught a balanced history that expresses a true democratic nature and egalitarian perspective.

How about the plain simple historical truth. Not the truth distorted by various belief systems.

You mean murder wasn't illegal in prewar Germany? Wow, I didn't know that! I always assumed the Nazi's took over the gov't and imposed those rules w/o the consent of the majority of the German population. Thank you for correcting me misconception of history.
How did we get to hitler from the founding fathers. Now Im really confused
It's a debate squasher. Instead of answering the debate at hand you compare your opponents comments to something done or said by some infamous historical figure. This puts your opponent in the position of having to explain why their position is not like that of Hitler or whoever instead of just being able to explain their position.
Its unfortunate that you have a difficult time dealing with facts, albeit ugly facts, but facts nevertheless. Also, as far as the "founding fathers" go, saying they were never perfect is an example of the attempts at whitewashing history. The fact is that those "founding fathers" were criminals. Besides all of them keeping many in bondage, Thomas Jefferson was 44 yrs old when 14 year old Sally Hemmings gave birth to the first of two daughters Jefferson would father with Hemmings. http://www.monticello.org/plantation/hemingscontro/hemings-jefferson_contro.htmlI don't know where you are from tee, but where I am from a 44 yr old man having sex with a 14 yr old girl is a felony.
