Connecticut State Community College (CT State) Fall 2024

Hello everyone I have applied to the NVCC nursing program for the 2024 fall. Im wondering if my stats are any good or if I should be worried. Whats everyone' stats too if I may ask.

Nursing GPA 3.53

TEAS 92.7

A&P 1 A-

 

I work in childcare full time M-F 9-5 now, but I've done all my co-reqs already, so I should only have one class day, and I want to try to see if I can get my clinical placement in the evening or weekend so I can continue working 4 days a week. As is probably the case for many of us, I think I will be taking out a small amount of loans so I won't have to stress about money while in the program

Yeah same it's the only coreq I need but I registered for the NVCC Summer class. It's 3 days a week in person though which kinda sucks but like you said I want to get it out of the way

I wish Capital would add the NUR1120 class to the registration page! Has anyone heard what the class days and times will be for NUR1120 at Capital?

So I was accepted into the nursing program on the Northwestern campus, but for Spring 2025. I had applied for Fall 2024 though. Does anyone know if that's typical?

Also, my stats were:

Nursing GPA: 3.64

A&P1: A

TEAS: 85.6

Just wanted to give any Capital ladies/gents some info, I emailed the Nursing director and she said the NUR1120 course will be available for registration this week. She didn't specify when.

Awesome! thanks for the update I was wondering about that.

Anyone else going into nursing this fall still need to take microbio? I am trying to decide when would be best for me to take it, I cant do Summer because all the spots are full.

I'm in the same boat. I'm due to start at TRCC this fall and got an email suggesting deferring to Spring if we haven't taken micro. I don't love the idea of deferring, but did put in a request. But if I'm not able to switch, I'm not about to put off the program another year and go through the application process again. I just kind of expected that it would be a little extra chaotic and a lot of extra hard work for a semester doing both. 🤷‍♀️

Wow! That is so surprising to me that they'd suggest deferring to Spring! I don't blame you at all for not wanting to do that. Especially when in the nursing packet it suggests taking it second semester, in capitals individual packet it says *please* take it by Spring 2025 semester as well. Ideally id love to be able to take it Summer 2025..

I also have to take Micro and was wondering why they don't allow you to take it Summer 2025. As long as it's completed before fall of 2025 I don't see why it would be an issue. Maybe I'll email her back and ask 😬 I'll be that girl.

Agreed! Please let me know if you ask, I definitely want to know as well, if you don't I will.

Just in case anyone else is in the same boat, I emailed them and they stated that their program starts in the Spring, not the Fall 🙂
