I have heard some of the craziest things nurses have done out of force of habit in the "Real World". Aka out of the hospital.

I've heard that some sign their checks with first initial, last name RN.

Someone ran to aisle four in the grocery store because of a "code blue! clean up! Code blue!"

Knocking on the door before entering, any door, your front door.

Answering your cell phone "Nurses station"

Admiring someones veins.

Holding your invisible steth when leaning over.

Wheres the weirdest place you've fallen asleep?

Confess!

haha! I'm a new grad and I accidentally signed RN on credit card receipt the other day...I feel like much less of a d-bag now that I see I'm not the only one who's done that! ;-)

Also, can't walk by a Purell dispenser without taking some haha

I've asked the boyfriend in my sleep to roll over so I can check your bottom.

I've also scared the living bejezus of out of him when he has woken up to me hovering over him to see if he is breathing.

I'm also not alot to talk about work related things because I get too graphic.

Found myself trying to turn on my laptop by pressing my pointer finger to the mouse pad like I do to get into the med dispense at work.

While on vacation this summer with my boyfriends family any ailment that could have possibly come up I had a cure for. heartburn, sun burn, allergies acting up, cut you finger chopping onions? I can help you out with that!

I also kept track of how many times my friends have voided while were are out for the night.

Yes I am nurse, no I'm a doctor you should probably get that checked out.

Guilty as well of signing checks with LPN after my name.

Telling time in the 2400 format. Anytime I'm watching a military show, I get so excited because I understand what they mean by "We will start running at 1400 hours". SMH

I always look at veins in check out lines..... I've signed checks (and anything else) w/RN.

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but over-analyzing every tv show I watch. e.g. I was catching up on NCIS today. On one of the episodes this guy walks into a hospital room, flips open a PCA pump and starts injecting the guy with an entire syringe of morphine. No locks, no alarms, lol. Sure its not a medical show, but really? A little common sense would serve them well...

Where I work, my badge gets me into pretty much everything- tap it to get into the garage, tap on the computer to log in, tap it in the cafeteria or gift shops to pay for stuff.... I am always reaching for my badge to let myself into the gate of my apartments or to pay for things at Walmart or in the drive thru at fast food restaurants. It makes it look like I'm just trying to show off my badge or something! haha
