Concordia University Irvine ABSN Summer 2021

Published

This will be the thread to discuss the application and interview process for CUI's ABSN program beginning Summer 2021.

Judging by the thread from last year, interview invitations go out in late February, with acceptances being announced at the end of March. There appears to have been a group interview as well as a timed essay component.

Looking forward to hearing from this year's Applicant pool!

Has anyone from the waitlisted heard back yet?

Nope, not yet! :( I know they told us we would be notified by this week.. so could be up to Friday!

I just got an email that the waitlist is now closed ?

Was anyone accepted with a class in-progress? My Chem course is in progress.

I'll share my experience as a reapplicant! I thought the interview was pretty brutal - 4-5 hours with small breaks and question after question. I couldn't help but compare my answers to those around me :// that killed my spirit a little. The questions weren't tricky, if I remember correctly they just want to get to know you. Be prepared to know yourself well and your experiences so you can confidently and comfortable speak about them, and you should be fine!

I’ll also share my experience as a re-applicant. Likewise, I felt myself comparing my answers with the other candidates in my group ://

Hi,

I know this is an old thread but I thought I'd try my luck. This may be a dumb question but I started writing my statement of intent thinking that the instructions were to write 2-4 pages per question and answering each question separately in essay format in 2-4 pages each. Tonight I spoke with with a friend who said that sounds like it would be too long and just couldn't be, she interpreted as all the questions answered in 1 single essay that is 2-4 pages. After hearing her opinion it did make sense as I doubt admissions would have time to read 10-20 pages for 200+ applicants.

I showed the instructions to a few other people and some thought read it how I originally thought, 2-4 page essay for each question and some thought my friend was right so I just wanted to double check with you all how you wrote and structured your essay.

Also, I just wanted to check how you submitted the statement of intent because I didn't see a place to upload it. Do you email it to admissions?

Thank you and hope you guys are having a great Memorial Day weekend!

Hi! The total length of the essay should be 2-4 pages. The statement of intent, plus the rest of the application forms should be sent via mail (physical copy) to the university. Good luck!! ?

Thank you so much for your reply! Just curious how you structured it, did you answer each question in a few paragraphs or just address the questions throughout the essay?

I saw in another thread someone mentioning sending it to an email, I'm hoping that's correct since I won't have time to send the statement of intent via physical mail.

Thanks again!

I’m not completely sure about emailing in the SOI, so I would call (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to confirm! But as for the structure, I kinda just answered each question in order and added in other paragraphs to transition them better

The Application Procedure form states that because of COVID they actually prefer that you send PDF's to the nursing email. I just submitted my letter of intent yesterday to the nursing email. Hope this helps!

Perfect!! Thanks for the update, I was going based off of when I applied previously so that helps a lot!

Hi, did anyone who applied the first time and got waitlisted RE-applied and got in the second time around? Would love some insight & idea on chances of getting in!
