LOL! I bet you'll be surprised about the ages, any where from fresh out of high school to... well... us I guess!

They try to admit 20 new recruits every for every starting session which leaves room for those that have to repeat for any reason, and leave a few chairs for the LPNs coming into the later sessions with the bridge program.

Ok, that makes sense. About admitting 20 new people and leaving room for LPN-RN and any repeaters. I did well on my Wonderlic and NET and I've been told those are good signs.

Now if I can just go on eBay and bid on some extra brain cells :lol2:

:DI am preparing for the NET test and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could let me know what is on it so that I can do well and not spend a lot of time studying something that may not be needed when I take the test.

I have been studying the study guide they told me to study but wanted to hear from someone who took it.

Medicalstud: Here's my opinion of the test that I've posted for others (and what schools are you looking at??):

Can You Give Any Example Questions Of What Was On The Math??? And What Was Difficult Regarding The Reading?????

I took the NET several weeks ago and the math section was very similar to the practice test (with answers) at the site below:

The reading practice is similar as well, but I found the actual test to be a little less straight-forward than the practice (i.e., on the actual test, I more often got stuck choosing between 2 answers and on the practice test I didn't have that issue very much at all).

Thanks for writing back. I am planning on taking it at Concorde in Aurora Colorado. I have been drilling myself on the website math questions at the site you listed in your response and am just really nervous that I might blow my one chance this year to get accepted into the program.

I have been an MA for 3 years and now work as a MA, CNA.

I want to be a nurse and if I can pass this test I can make the dream a reality. I tried for Front Range but the wait list as you know is so long!

I was wondering since you took the exam were you accepted?

FYI: The Practice NET test is harder than real life. I think the point of it is that if you can pass that you will not have a problem passing the real one. Remember it is timed, so you have something like a minute for each question... Brush up on your fractions, and remember polynomials and such from Basic Algebra and you will be fine. A lot of folks practiced the math on Sparknotes.com and it really helped! Good Luck and God Speed! I don't even know you, but I have faith. I figure if I can do it... ANY ONE CAN!!! LOL!

MedicalStud: The response from D'sGirl (above) is absolutely right on. Concorde (and other nursing schools) are looking for a minimum composite score on the NET. I haven't been in school for a loooonnnnnggggg time and I was able to score decently after doing only one careful run-through of the practice math and reading questions.

It's my understanding that Concorde will start taking applications in May for the July 7, 2008 RN program start date. I have the "right" test numbers - just have to figure out the financing - still trying to figure out if we can/should do it. Have you talked to the Concorde people yet, MedicalStud? Like all "career" schools, they won't be very forthcoming over the phone but if you go there, you take the 12-minute Wonderlic test as well as the NET. If you arrange for the NET, they give you the score right there and then - and they don't charge you anything to take the NET (at least they didn't charge me anything - I don't think they're trying to make money out of test-taking).

I would reccommend Concorde Career Institute (College) LPN program. I am not familiar with the RN program. I attended Concorde and loved it I was the first graduating LPN class in 1995.

At the time I lived in Texas and the waiting list were all so long...while visiting my sister in colorado she to me to try concorde to see if they had an LPN program. I called them up, this was June 1994 and was told that the would be starting a class soon and to leave my name and number. After hanging up i told my sister they are not going to call me because i live out of state.

Well, low and behold the called me in late July early Aug to say they were starting a class in september 1994 if i were interested to take they entry exam and do an enterview.........I flew back out to dever to take care of all the business and was excepted!

I packed up my children and my belongings and started at concorde sept 1994 and completed oct 1995. It was great experience

Hi there everyone I graduate June 30th from Concordes LPN program and I can say that it was a good experience, I have no regrets about it. :nurse:

I have heard that the RN program has a lot of issues and the students that want to continue and go on for thier BSN can't transfer ANYTHING to any state or private 4 year colleges because the RN program is not accredited.

If you or one of your LPN classmates wanted to attend an LPN-RN bridge program, do you know if you could do that? Is the accreditation or lack thereof an issue for you too?

You know I was thinking of doing the bridge program at concorde because its quick and I know they are working on getting their accredidation. I would be content with an assosiates degree for now. I heard from a friend who graduated from the concorde RN that Metro allows the credits to transfer, but I don't know how true that is.

In the LPN program we are not required to take microbiology, college english, A&P II, and I think College Algebra, which are all prerequisites into any RN program ...so anyone ,regardless on where you recieved your LPN from, will have to end up having to take those courses. Its not just a concorde thing. So no I dont forsee any problems with my future education yet because I don't even have those classes under my belt.

A lot of my friends from school are going to get their pre reqs for RN at one of the community colleges then apply to ACC's lpn -rn and get on the wait list. I know some others that are doing the on line program from Indiana State University for BSN...... :nurse:
