FYI: The Practice NET test is harder than real life. I think the point of it is that if you can pass that you will not have a problem passing the real one. Remember it is timed, so you have something like a minute for each question... Brush up on your fractions, and remember polynomials and such from Basic Algebra and you will be fine. A lot of folks practiced the math on Sparknotes.com and it really helped! Good Luck and God Speed! I don't even know you, but I have faith. I figure if I can do it... ANY ONE CAN!!! LOL!

LOL! I bet you'll be surprised about the ages, any where from fresh out of high school to... well... us I guess! They try to admit 20 new recruits every for every starting session which leaves room for those that have to repeat for any reason, and leave a few chairs for the LPNs coming into the later sessions with the bridge program.

It has been a hard road for me, but I had inspiration. I think the best advice anyone could give is to hang on to your dreams, don't give up on what you want. I started out the program counting the weeks. Every Friday was another huge landmark... pretty soon I will be counting the days!

Let's see... The sessions are 10 weeks long with a week in between. I think we have some great teachers, some awesome teachers and some not so awesome in the class, but rock stars in the clinicals. Not everyone is a good lecturer, but what they can SHOW you is fantastic. There has been some teacher turn over in the past. Personally I can't imagine taking a major paycut to teach a class room full of Nursing students... The reason there is a nursing shortage is because there is a shortage of nursing instructors. Concorde is also a corporation, you have to realize that what they expect out of their instructors is more that what a regular college would. These people have to work their a**es off for us. The first two classes graduated right at 50% of the students that started. Our class started with around 30, some from previous classes joined our, and we haven't lost any body! We are a huge class of about 42... It's crazy! Ok, so with that said - any wonder that our clinicals are all over Denver Metro? They have to work hard to find places for all of us! I commute from Longmont, and I think our furthest (for me) clinical will be this session when we have to go to Ft. Logan for psych. CCC has some great study resources though and I downloaded mp3 files of lectures for every class I have. I just drive and listen to my radio. I refuse to let the commute be a waste of my study time! I hope some of this helps. It is crazy, it is hard, but if there is a nursing school that isn't... not sure I want to work with those nurses... Ya know?

Two of my buddies graduated with the Jan '08 class doing the bridge program, and a friend that is in class with me is also doing the bridge. We have 7 LPN in our class I believe. I have been told it is expensive, but that goes without saying. Short term sacrifices for the long term goals you know? They all have done/are doing fine. No problems other than the normal ones! LOL

CCC RN program student, graduate in 15 weeks, commuting from Longmont. What you heard is right. But bad enough to wait for years? Heck no! Ask away... I will do my best to answer your questions.

I attend CCC in Aurora. I graduate in 15 weeks. Yes, it is pretty crazy - but who said nursing school wouldn't be! Feel free to ask what ever questions you might have. I will do my best to give you or if nothing else find you the answer!

I am currently in the ADN program at the CCC Aurora campus with 15 weeks left until graduation. Heck yeah it's crazy, and it is certainly the hardest thing I have done in my life yet. But you get out what you put in to it, as with anything in life! It really depends on how badly you want to make it happen. I would be willing to bet that no one out there ever told you that Nursing school would be easy - so if it is what you really want... you can do it! Regarding the LPN program: Three of the very best nurses I have ever worked with are Concorde Grads. Their expertise, knowledge, and confidence is what helped me to make the final decision to go to Concorde. I wanted what they had! Concorde's LPN program is much older which is part of what makes it so much better, the ADN program is only a few years old so still has quite a few wrinkles (major bumps) to iron out. But nothing that can't be handled. The LPNs coming out of here are like rock stars! So far the RN students are the same - doing excellent, passing the NCLEX on the first try, and getting hired without a problem!
