It is a valuable learning tool to make your own. Not only does it sink into the momory faster but by making your own links you form the memory faster. They are not difficult start with one main concept i.e. Respiratory system the core concept would be the alveolar/capillary membrane set that in a circle in the middle of the page on one side list out how the air reaches teh alveolus on the other the circullation star outwards co2 transport o2 transport etc. It is your map so play with it. coloour it write bits on paper and see if you can link them it is the process of playing with the data that will set it into your memory and less painfully than rote memorisation of a preprepared map.
We used a program called "Inspiration." It's like a concept map template program. We were required to use it for care plans, medication "maps" (so you could insert little lines as to what interacted with what-cool, huh?), and patho maps. By the end of the semester I realized that it had helped me immensely, especially the careplans. It was divided up where I learned to look at the whole person while looking at each system individually. It made me think like a nurse. Its called Inspiration. Hope this helps!
there is a sticky thread on allnurse student forums with this information:i need help too in this subject
