Hi everyone, I'm starting this thread so we can share information about the CAS, the program we should pass in order to gain registration in Queensland, Australia. I have passed all four components of the CAS challenge test and it can be done with hard work and a lot of prayer, you do not really need agencies for this. For starters, the challenge test is a 70 item test with multiple choice questions, occasionally with identification items also.

hi..

no....a lot of overseas nurses applied for a registration in queensland without any experiences at all..including myself :D some of them are newly registered nurses in the philippines.

but if you got an enormous years of experience in nursing that would your edge from other applicants.

however, like what they always say "The assessment process is done individually"...

How about the IELTS result do you have to send it with your application or you have to wait for their response and tell you to take the exam?

i have been following the posts of the new graduates in the us who are having great difficulty finding a job.

many are moving states in an effort to find a job.

i hoped it wouldn't happen here, but now we are seeing it.

the effect of the economy downturn is starting to hit the healthcare sector here in australia.

i believe that there are less permanent full time/part time positions being advertised and more casual/temp positions being advertised than ever before.

has the economic downturn affected your employment opportunities?

hi, you can send your documents even without the IELTS result. they will assess your application and once they have assessed it, they will ask you to provide a passing english language test. its either IELTS or OET. you can not proceed to do the challenge test or BP without an english language test result.

but at least your application has been assessed already. so i gather you havent got an english lang.result yet? my suggestion is for you to submit your aplication while waiting for your eng.lang.result.:twocents:

hello OZ bound nurses;

its been quite a while since i havent read news from this forum...our house got burned last april 07, 2009 at around 6pm...it was covered by the media nationwide...our house was unfortunately the last house eaten by that fire...a lot of things lost...

anyway, i send my application docs last march 24 via registered mail only and amazingly they responded it so quickly.. as i received postal mail from the council about my application last april 10. a matter of 2 weeks only of waiting..

as of now im waiting for their aseessment..as usual im still hoping and praying for a favorable result..

what happened to joeturtle?????????????

Mr Joe Turtle will not be allowed to be registered in the State of Queensland for breach of etiquette. Please beware in all your postings because the Council is monitoring all your activities in this website. Many people should not take advantage of this forum for the sake of personal benefits. You must remember that Joe turtle was the only candidate for a particular date and his trail is not hard to follow within the Registration Council

If this is true.. then it is because of all the specific details he posted about his last part of the exam - Part B. It wouldn't be fair for others who have absolutely no idea about how the exams go; so, him giving details here will give an edge to those who have read it only (this is how I analyzed it if Andrea's news was true). I feel bad for him. :(

And I feel sorry for him too. Meanwhile, it is clear that his primary intention is to guide fellow nurses. But hopefully we'll hear from him sooner..

I am absolutely speechless. What happened to joeturtle? Is this news true? How did msct. andrea know about this news?

I sure hope that Joeturtle is doing fine right now. After all, he was the one who started this thread, and it has been helpful to us in terms of informing us about the process, what correct visa type to apply for, even the possible expenditures.

If what happened to him is true, then it is very very sad. I do not know him personally, but hey, we all know the feeling of working hard for our dreams right?

Joeturtle, wherever you are, we hope you are okay...
