Hi everyone, I'm starting this thread so we can share information about the CAS, the program we should pass in order to gain registration in Queensland, Australia. I have passed all four components of the CAS challenge test and it can be done with hard work and a lot of prayer, you do not really need agencies for this. For starters, the challenge test is a 70 item test with multiple choice questions, occasionally with identification items also.
As a PR, you don't need tourist visa to go to the US? Or do you need to be a citizen? I have a pending petition but due to retrogression, I am hell bent on taking this Oz route instead.
Another question, if say after a few years I think about practicing my other profession, would that be possible? I am thinking of doing that after my initial contract and at least when I'm PR already.
Thank you! You are such a blessing.
Hey guys, please help. I'm in the process of launching my application to QLD. Question 1: where do I send it to? There are 2 addresses on my application form, a P.O. box and a Street address (Charlotte st), where do i send it to?
Question 2: Do I have to have EACH PAGE of my document notarized? E.g. TOR-3 pages, 3 pages that will be notarized?
Thanks guys!

If you are sending through Post, use the P.O. Box
If you are sending through Courier - use the street address
Each page of your documents need to be notarized, if a page has a back copy, it has to be notarized as well.
My IELTS is expiring on August. If I take my part A July, will I have to repeat my IELTS? Thanks.
Part A has nothing to do with IELTS, it is the QNC's requirement that before they give you the permission to sit for CAS, you need to submit them a passing IELTS mark.
The only thing that I am unsure of is if QNC will still honor expired IELTS until CAS program has been attained successfully.
Mr Kowalska,
Thank you so much for the info regarding the visas. Not only did it enlighten me, it also inspired me and encouraged me to prepare harder for the exams because good things are waiting once I pass those exams and I get my QLD license.
The 457 visa needs a sponsor, right? I have another question: are there many hospitals in QLD right now that offers sponsorships to foreign nurses? Also, how long does a 457 visa get processed?
Thanks!

stepping in with a legal note.
australia 's competence assessment service info available from this link includes part a competency test + exam outline: click here for part a information booklet for rn's and en's.
i'm sure there is a statement on the test similar to nclex re sharing of direct exam content and answers ...would give others unfair advantage along with violating copyright laws. please be careful of minding these professional standards.

I forgot, just a reminder, if there is a part in the contract which is unclear to you, do not hasten to sign it - you can go to any Barrister - in any local court house - and ask them to interpret it for you. They usually do not charge you for it.
