Just wanted to reply to you, the most comfortable I've found are nike shox. I love them so much, I have several pair. Although they can be a little pricey. I look for them on sale. Bobbye

Shox all the way!

Rockers lights by Cherokee. they are sooo light both of them weigh less than 1 regular shoe. a lot of those expensive shoes everybody recommended to me felt like I had cement on my feet!

Another vote for Crocs - last my whole shift! (And almost everywhere else I go...)

There's another nurse at my hospital that actually bought inserts to wear in the bottom of her Crocs for extra support. (I think she has about 6 pair now!!)

I wear out 2-3 pairs of Reeboks in 6-8 months. They are comfortable, and I can find them in the size 4 :crying2: I have been "stuck" wearing. :p

Z Coils are wonderful! They are about $150 new, ugly as everything, but they are great! About the IV lines getting yanked, they now have them where the springs are covered. Hope that helps!

I personally love any birckenstock clog, I knoe they cost alot but they rock!! I also like Nike Shox if you prefer tennis shoes. I have alot of friends who swear by dansko's, but they kill my feet. Jennifer

Hi to all,

I will be starting Nursing school in the fall and very excited. I have a dilemma though, my school does not permit us to wear clogs or sneakers, :uhoh3: so what's left that will be comfy?

Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Ok a couple of questions.....

How are the Birkenstock Professional Clogs? Has anyone here ever tried these? That's what I was planning on going with. But now that I've heard all the talk about the Crocs I'm thinking of trying a pair of those too. They are much less expensive and look very comfortable. The only problem I have is a wide foot. I wear a 9.5 W shoe and it's so hard to find anything to fit. We have to wear all navy or white shoes so that's the other dilemma.

I've tried the Dansko's on but they don't fit my foot right, too narrow and they don't come in wide. I went up a size like they suggested but then my heal slipped up and down when I walked. So those are definitely out.

I have a few friends who have the Allpro Birkenstocks and I have a pair of brown slip on clogs that I wear everywhere else. I've found that if I wear them for long periods of time they seem to rub a blister on my feet.

I guess I just have weird feet and if the Crocs or the Birkenstock Professionals don't wind up working for me I'll have to search for some all white New Balance but I do hate all white shoes. UGH.

Thanks for the info.

I used to wear the clogs, however I had an accident where I slipped in some spilled water and because I was wearing clogs and not regular shoes, workman's comp didn't pay a dime. Said the shoes are what caused the fall.

Well I finally found some Crocs in my area. Went today and got two pair. The man I bought from said you usually should get a size bigger to help with the airflow around your feet but for work I got some that fit with no holes at all so my feet will be covered and they won't slip, very comfortable with socks on too. And then I loved the feel of them so much I got some with the holes in them to just wear around everywhere else. I got both in navy, not adventerous enough yet but those pink ones and the butter yellow ones are so cute, I may be getting more in the future. I wore them while I walked all over Wal-mart and they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever put on my feet. So another vote for the Crocs here. :D :D Thanks for the info to whoever listed them, never heard of them before.

Dansko makes a model that is exactly like the clog but with a closed back.

I love my Echo Trekkers from "The Walking Company." I also bought their insoles and support socks. The whole kit-n-kaboodle cost around $200.00. I think it's $$$$ well spent by the time I get home from my third twelve-hour shift in a row, and I can still see my ankles!
