Come on guys and girls need pay info LPN'S! HELP!!!

Published

Hi Guys

I put up a thread a couple weeks ago asking what the LPN pay was in N.O. and on the north shore area around hammond, convington, etc. No replies? Help a fellow nurse out. Probably a good chance I will move down there and need to know the pay scale for LTC, Hospitals, etc. PLEASE HELP ME OUT! Is it that bad for LPN's down there that no one wants to tell me what the pay is down there?

Thanks Guys for any info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LPN get paid between 12-18 in the n.o area.. it depends where u work

central louisiana new grads about $12

experienced 14-20

agency 20-30

I left NO in 2004 and was making about 13.00 an hour base pay, plus 2.50 shift diff. One of my friends worked at an LTAC and made almost 22 as an LPN, but she hated it. Agencies were paying 20.00-23.00 depending on area worked.

I am now an RN and I have been trying to find out what it is like down there now for nurses, so if you get any info., please let me know.

Thanks

The pay sucks as an LPN I left N.O pre Katrina Jan 2006. I was in disarray and broke. A lost puppy. The cost of living doesn't add up to the pay cut. I can make $13/hr without a highschool diploma. I felt an employer does not have the right to mandate you to work on your off day. I did not like how N.O treated their nurses particularly the Northshore. I don't like a dictatorship environment As you employer you are.... A team is my type The Penske truck rental rep stated he has made so much money off people moving to LA and turning around and leaving. My pay as a LPN was compared to a CNA with no experience $13/hr. As a LPN up north I make over 24/hr on staff and agency 30-32/hr they pay shift diff, shift pick up bonus +OT. I will not work for anything less. I love to visit family and friends but as far a ever having an address in LA-N.O. Absolutely NOT.

I think admonishing the entire city because of your experience with one employer is a little overboard.

To the OP, try doing some research and I'm sure you will find what you're looking for. NOLA.com has lots of great job listings, some with salary. You can also try calling hospitals/facilities and asking the nurse recruiter what the starting salaries are. Northshore Regional, East Jefferson General Hospital, Ochsner Health Systems, Tulane Medical Center, West Jefferson Medical Center. These are just a few. Wish I could give you figures but I don't have any LPN's on my unit to ask.
