Columbus State University FNP Fall 2018

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Just testing the waters to see who else applied for CSU's FNP program for Fall 2018. I applied here and to ODU in Virginia. I am located in North Carolina. I intend to start in the Summer, as they offer Fall students early entry to start classes in the Summer.

Boo! Hiss! So sorry!

Just curious if you're in a large city?

I have Duke and UNC I'm competing with.

Gotta start finding people though....

I'm cohort 6 so technically I start this Fall part-time but I'm doing summer classes. Pharm starts in a couple weeks-but I'm not even registered yet?! Anyone else doing pharm this semester? Getting nervous about that too.

Yes, I'm not registered yet either. I bought a book called "clinical pharmacology made ridiculously simple" as a reference to help with our pharmacology class. I live in CT and have found the smaller private practices if you go in person tend to be more receptive. Big cities should have areas of special need (low income areas) that would probably love students in their facilities, try to think of smaller places rather than the larger ones that the universities tend to have contracts with in place already. Try to set OB and pediatrics now even though it's a year out, those tend to be the ones that hold people up on graduation due to lack of finding a preceptor. Try to use social media and word of mouth also. Good luck! We all need it!

Thanks so much for the tips! I'll check out that book

I just took that Pharm. class in my first semester. Therr were quizes, discussions, and exams. For discussion I often had to find readings out of textbook. However, all the answers for the quizes and exams were in the textbook. Quite a lot of reading but at least you know where to find answers!

Thank you so much for this í ½í²• very helpful!

If we get a head start on the reading in Pharm do they do the chapters in order? Also are the test and quizes open book or timed?

I saw on the CSU website that you have to find a proctor for exams and pay $30 for each exam. Is this true? I have not seen any forms or told of these extra charges.

I can not send message for some reason maybe too new on this site.

Hi angielocks-

I live in chapel hill and have been accepted to Georgetown's fnp program for fall. They do help with clinical placement but are really expensive. I agree about the NC schools. I don't want to take the gre either.

Congrats! I was accepted to Columbus State and UAB and a couple others. Going with CSU I think. Even though UAB's resonated with me, CSU is a lot cheaper.
