Columbus State University FNP Fall 2018

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Just testing the waters to see who else applied for CSU's FNP program for Fall 2018. I applied here and to ODU in Virginia. I am located in North Carolina. I intend to start in the Summer, as they offer Fall students early entry to start classes in the Summer.

Hey guys,

I live in KS, and I got the email in CSU account around 3/2/18 too - being offered for a full time seat in Fall 2018! Guess we who are accepted will be classe mates! My GPA is around 3.5-3.6, and 3 yrs of nursing work experience.

I live in CT and will be doing Full Time online also. Is there a FB page started so we can communicate about classes/questions?

This group has been removed from FB, so now there is no interaction with current students in the FNP program. :( I am having the hardest time securing a preceptor for Fall semester. Anyone else in the same boat? I live in Florida and CSU finally got an affiliation agreement with the facility I work for, but seems like we are flooded with ARNP students or they are already contracted with other colleges. Getting a return phone call or email is few and far between....any advice?

Hi! Did you email (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for a list of clinical sites that have affiliations already? It was a pretty extensive list. I got lucky with my PCP. Try urgent care clinics, any internal medicine/family practice. I had much better luck going in person rather than phone/email, harder to ignore you that way.

Good to know. I am part-time and haven't really started with the preceptor thing. Definitely need to though

Thank you for your reply! I live in Florida, there are only a couple on the list for me to choose from and they are hours away from where I am. I have tried all that you mention, but will keep on trying. Someone will have to say YES right?! LOL

Get started now! Do not wait :)

Ugh...I am in the same situation. You are not alone. My PCP was going to sign the form then her hospital stopped her. There was disagreement between the hosp. and school, the contract fell through...now I need to look for someone for Fall semester. Where do I start...have you find your yet? By the way, are you full time or part? I started Spring 2018 partime.
