Columbus State University FNP Fall 2018

Just testing the waters to see who else applied for CSU's FNP program for Fall 2018. I applied here and to ODU in Virginia. I am located in North Carolina. I intend to start in the Summer, as they offer Fall students early entry to start classes in the Summer.

Hey guys!!

I was accepted into Fall 2018 part time cohort! I went ahead and started a Facebook group for those of you that want to join - it's "Columbus State University - Family Nurse Practitioner Program". I originally had it as c/o 2021 but it should be available to everyone. If there's another group I don't know about please let's me know! But feel free to join :)

I am so excited to start and get to know you all!

Does anyone know anything about the proctored exams in the FNP program at CSU? Do you pick time slots or is there only one time per day you can take the exam? Just wondering because I am seriously considering this program and I seen on another thread that there is not much flexibility with taking the tests.

I have been enrolled in 3 classes and they have all used proctorU. There have been many time slots through out the day to take it, but only one day. You know from the beginning of the semester what day tests are scheduled, you just have to schedule your time slot. Hope this helps.

That is very helpful! How late do time slots generally run? I get off at 7pm and wouldn't mind taking a test after working if that was all the options I had

Most say you have to take it by 10pm. I would just stay on top of the sign up date for tests so you have an early pick.

Are you satisfied with the program overall? I have been searching for what seems like forever trying to find a program that fits my needs without building massive debt and this one seems to be it

Yeah, it is by far the cheapest. I was not impressed with my first class. I dropped 2 classes in order to take one at a time but the 2 I dropped seemed well organized. From what I hear from my friends in other programs it is about the same quality as far as professors go. I'm not far enough along to really know more than that tho

how soon after applying did you find out you were accepted? Do they wait till after the deadline or do they review applications as they come in?

I applied really close to the deadline and it was 2 or 3 weeks after that

Hey ... is anyone concerned about the re accreditation for this program ? They are due for reaccreditation and results won't come out till 2019 may....any reason they wont get it?

Not that I know of. I'm about to graduate this spring and have not heard of any accreditation issues. I have learned so much in this program but you have to push yourself to actually study and learn the content.
