Columbia University School of Nursing - Masters Direct Entry (MDE) / DNP 2024

Published

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Columbia's MDE/DNP program for 2024! Good luck :)!

@FutureNurseJess123 I believe it's more along the lines of 200-300 applicants and ~40 MDE students accepted? Even less for Post-BS DNP students, maybe ~20 -- though I heard they may increase the Post-BS cohort this yr. Not exact on the #s

That makes sense, that's probably where I got the 200 from. I did read on the website that as of Sept 2023 there are 659 students enrolled between the MDE, DNP, and PHD programs.

@FutureNurseJess123 saw that 659 students enrolled on the website too. I think that's the # of students currently enrolled in the whole program: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd yr students combined.

Also on their site is, "class size" (pic attached). You think that's the # of students accepted per cohort or the # of students in a classroom?

Looks like # of students in a classroom

I wonder when decisions are coming the wait is killing me LOL

Every day I convince myself today's the day only to be sadly disappointed ?

Who is calling today to check? Haha

Howdy, folks...so I reached out to admissions...they said that we should get decision letters emailed to us within the next two weeks.

They said that a week ago... LOL  thanks for checking in.

Anybody having any luck? I caved and emailed today since I have another schools deadline on Monday and all that got me was a call with admissions to explain how their process works. I just wanna know if I got in or not ?

Just one more week, or potentially sooner. We all feel the same. Honestly, the best thing we can do is refrain from posting here during the day.

Hey y'all,

Just an FYI- I received an email from Columbia at 6:52 PST tonight titled "Columbia Nursing: Scholarship Process Changes.” Nothing about admission decisions or anything, just an informative email about different types of financial aid packages (need v merit) and FASFA delays etc. I'm sure y'all also received this message, yes?

I will say actually, I found these two sentences particularly notable: “…accepted applicants awarded a need-based scholarship will be notified with their admissions decision.... Recipients of the merit scholarship will be notified with their admissions decision.” I trust that this may just be funky wording and I am misinterpreting it, but there seems to be an implication that admitted students who do *not* receive neither a merit nor need based scholarship will *not* be notified of their "admissions decision.” Thoughts on this? Can anyone provide clarification? I am going to just trust that all decisions will be released soon (both admissions and financial aid awards)!
