Columbia University School of Nursing - Masters Direct Entry (MDE) / DNP 2024

Published

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Columbia's MDE/DNP program for 2024! Good luck :)!

I will say actually, I found these two sentences particularly notable: “…accepted applicants awarded a need-based scholarship will be notified with their admissions decision.... Recipients of the merit scholarship will be notified with their admissions decision.” I trust that this may just be funky wording and I am misinterpreting it, but there seems to be an implication that admitted students who do *not* receive neither a merit nor need based scholarship will *not* be notified of their "admissions decision.” Thoughts on this? Can anyone provide clarification? I am going to just trust that all decisions will be released soon (both admissions and financial aid awards)!

I think what they meant is that those who end up approved for the need-based or the merit scholarships will be notified that they were granted it within the email of acceptance.

I haven't received this email ?

The email was for MDE applicants which may be why you didn't get one.

Yeah I am pretty sure I received that same kind of email back in 2021 when I applied to the MDE/DNP program.  Don't stress y'all. I will say they are certainly taking their time with these decisions haha.

Sending positive energy to everyone!  One more week until decisions. I have decided to just go with the mindset that emails will be coming out the 14th at 11:58pm LOL.

LOL I'm going with the same mindset. I was hoping when they sent that email yesterday, that it meant decisions would be posted today.

I thought so as well :’) maybe tomorrow we'll have some luck... Friday feels like an appropriate day to release decisions right? LOL

I spoke with the director of admissions today and he said there was delays because of the FAFSA and thats why that email went out. He did mention that decisions were supposed to be posted sooner, that he likes to keep it around the same time as the year before (which was January 23) but shoutout to the government for delaying the FAFSA and in turn delaying our decisions ? LOL

This is the only email I have not received is there anyone else that didn't receive this? I applied MDE

No I applied MDE and also never received this email. I just triple checked again. This is the only email I've not received from this since applications. In November

I would not over think not getting the email since it is mass sent out automatically. Most def is a computer error.

I really am overthinking, thank you ?

I just looked it up online and yup. FAFSA's delayed by 4-6 weeks. Hopefully we'll still hear back this month. I think anything regarding aid isn't going to be sent out till after colleges get their FAFSA data in March which could mean April for us.
