Thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for prospective applicants to Columbia's ETP program starting Summer 2011. I was going to apply last year but passed on it in favor of working for another year.
Applications are due November 15, 2010! Right around the corner ...
Anyone else preparing for this also?
Hello All. I applied for the Summer 2011, ETP program. Hopefully I will be a candidate for the PsychNP class. I am so anxious, excited for the news of whether or not my application was good enough for the nursing school at COlumbia University. I have two previous masters degrees from Columbia University, Teachers College in Mental Health COunseling and Education. But this is different! This is the career I've always wanted. I just hope my application is good enough. I worry because: my GRE scores were from 4 years ago, and they were a under 1200. My undergraduate scores were awesome at a 3.8. ANd I am currently taking the Prereqs which are averaging at a 4.0, so far. I currently work for COlumbia University in a Mental Health Clinic. WHo knows what the future holds though. We will see. Good Luck to all.

You definitely sound qualified! I also applied to Columbia's Psych NP program - seems like there aren't too many folks out there interested in the psych specialty. I applied to quite a few other schools and had my last interview yesterday - so now it's just the painful waiting! Best of luck to you -maybe we'll be studying together soon
Hello everyone! Just wanted to say how helpful everyone's posts have been and also wanted to post to let everyone who doesn't have perfect scores know you are not alone. I am graduating in May from UMD and have a 3.368 GPA, and 3.8 pre-req GPA. I did great on the verbal part of the GRE and not so hot on the math section getting a final score 1040. I have my certified nursing assistant/geriatric nursing assistant license. Everyone who has amazing math GRE scores be so proud that is definitely not my strong suit! So everyone who is applying with scores under the 50th percentile on the math I am too! Good luck to everyone!
I agree, all the support and information that everyone has contributed has been great! I really appreciate it. Does anyone think we will hear today? I read some past blogs and someone from last years admitting class said they did not hear till around Valentine's day, so I have a strong feeling we won't hear till next week or maybe the week after, which does not help the anxiety. Best of luck to everyone again!
