Columbia University ETP 2011

Published

Thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for prospective applicants to Columbia's ETP program starting Summer 2011. I was going to apply last year but passed on it in favor of working for another year.

Applications are due November 15, 2010! Right around the corner ...

Anyone else preparing for this also? :clown:

That email was designed to give everyone an anxiety attack. Maybe this is Jose's revenge.

I think we shouldn't expect to hear back until sometime next week. But, to be sure, we could all spam him this afternoon with whiny inquiries. I know I will.

Wishing everyone as relaxing a weekend as possible.

Hi, I applied to 2011ETP program as well. My GPA is not very good, comparing to some of you. My overall undergrad GPA is around 3.36, prerequisite is about 3.5.My GRE is 1200........Not that good, so I don't keep hopes up.

Wish all of you have good luck!!!

just wondering if anyone knows what the acceptance rate is for Columbia's ETP program?

Hi all, if this helps (I'm a current ETP student) we got the email from Jose titled "Your Columbia University Nursing Decision" on 2/4 last year advising us they were finalizing admissions decisions and we received the actual decision email from Judy on 2/11.

@EricaS, they don't seem to publish the admissions stats but over 700 applied this year (up 10% from last year) and the class is a little under 150 students. I imagine they over admit as they expect not everyone will enroll...maybe 30% acceptance rate if I had to warrant a guess? Maybe a little higher?

Hang in there!

Prob a bit higher; 150/750/.3 = yield of about 70%. If the yield is half that, acceptance rate is 60%. I'd imagine it's closer to 60% than 30%, if that makes people feel any better. In any event, we'll find out "shortly"

AHHH was at a meeting at work, saw Joses email, and just screamed in my seat when I was suppose to be listening to my boss lol! Everyone if you check the website and for some reason when you enter you pin and password and the decision comes up send a post ASAP!!!!! Ah good luck everyone

why would the yield be so low? 35% yield (aka people accepting columbia's offer) seems really low.

If you search the forums, there is a 2006 thread saying the acceptance rate is 70%. I'm sure it's lower now, but a 40%ish yield wouldn't be surprising to me. Lots of wonderful nursing schools and NYC is $$$!

The whole process is nerve wracking. Which ever the acceptance rate it, I hope I am in that number. Now, I am thinking I probably shouldnt have put all my hope in one basket...I will tell you if I change my mine, after I get the decision. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Here is to hope!
