Columbia School of Nursing MDE 2018

Published

Hi AN fellows!

I know it is super early to start such a thread but I was hopping to connect with potential applicants/classmates for Columbia SON MDE 2018 program!

If you are applying to Columbia SON for summer 2018, let's share our experiences, ideas, thoughts and such!

Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

I attached the IRS 4506 T-form but it didn't appear under the "Upload Materials" section. Does anyone else have this problem?

Is Midwifery notoriously smaller or more competitice than other specialties? I know nothing! 😭🙈 this waiting game is horrible.

sooooooooo who is going to be the one to call and ask when decisions will be out lol:unsure:

Well we know...Email says mid-February. I guess someone can ask, "Is admissions done reviewing applicants?" I know that the team reviews applicants 3-4 times.

Btw, does anyone know how many applicants Columbia receives?

I believe they receive around 700-800 applications.

and typically their cohort is 200, so I assume they accept maybe 250-300? Pretty good admissions rate

How are you guys paying for school ?

like MDE program itself seems like it's gonna cost over 100k ( cost of living in NYC is crazy too)

and DNP is gonna be around 100k too if I did my math correctly...

I am just worried of how I am gonna afford everything....

Applying for tons of scholarships, part of my savings from when I worked full time, mostly loans, and cost of living provided by my gainfully employed husband.

Which scholarships have you applied for? Everytime I look you have to be in the nursing program or you have to be accepted by the time you mail in the application .... which was the beginning of Feb. for a lot of the ones that I found:(

I haven't gotten any yet or anything. I have about 1w to apply for. One is a Tylenol scholarship.

I believe midwifery is around 15-20 if not a little less!
