Columbia School of Nursing MDE 2018

Published

Hi AN fellows!

I know it is super early to start such a thread but I was hopping to connect with potential applicants/classmates for Columbia SON MDE 2018 program!

If you are applying to Columbia SON for summer 2018, let's share our experiences, ideas, thoughts and such!

Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

Yeah I don't get the 4506-T form, either. Do we need to just upload it, or send it to the IRS? Also... on line 6, which form do we specify? It says we can only specify one of those options.

I just found this link for the Columbia Teacher's College... does that mean we're screwed? You had to order it a while ago?? Look at the very bottom.

I'm gonna call tomorrow and ask if we need to send it to the IRS in addition to uploading it. Columbia is looking for a 1040 form, so I just wrote 1040 for line 6. Also, I wouldn't worry about what's on the teacher's college website. That's for a completely different graduate school and the nursing school has already given us instructions about financial aid.

I believe it says resume once you click the upload materials section. You just have to scroll through it.

Are you talking about on the scholarship application? O.O

Hey guys,

I read past threads on this and the instructions on the page I linked are exactly accurate. I followed the instructions and got everything done the way Columbia wants it for our program (that is, if you believe past threads here...). Even though the teacher's program is obviously different than ours, their site has clearer instructions on how to acquire the form quickly. I ended up doing a quick google search, which is how i found the step by step instructions- saved me from being nervous about waiting for snail mail. and missing the deadline!

If you go to the IRS website and follow the instructions on the link, you can electronically obtain all the information you need and submit it via our scholarship application. You need to input some personal information, but I got it instantaneously. The form that is on our scholarship page is one you can fill out and mail to acquire the returns, but it's way easier to do it online. Let me know if anyone has any questions. I'm still going to call in the morning before I submit, but I found multiple sources saying this is right so here's hoping.

I tried to send the IRS transcript online, but unfortunately they could not "verify my identity" and now I have to wait for a verification code to be sent by mail. I'm not really sure what to do at this point, other than call Columbia, upload the form, and follow the instructions on the form. This is so frustrating.

yes..

Did anyone apply for Midwifery? Any idea what the cohort is size wise??? UPENN is 8-10

I also applied to the midwifery program, but I'm not sure what the cohort size is?

Y'ALL. I called and they said we need to only submit the form to the online application. We don't need to fuss with the IRS.

This is coming a little late since the deadline is today, but I was worried about redundancy in the essays - as many of you mentioned - so I asked the financial aid department if the scholarship reviewers will have access to our full MDE applications. They said the scholarship committees do NOT have access to our MDE application essays, so I ended up reusing a bit of information from those essays. Hope this helps anyone who hasn't submitted yet!

Thanks for letting me know!

I'm rushing through this!!! Totally didn't realize it was due at 4PM!!

Wow.. thanks for that. Also, good luck to you! ^^^ 4 PM EST!
