Hey guys! Thought I'd start a thread for Columbia DNP hopefuls. I applied for the June 2021 cycle for the AG-ACNP specialty. Would love to hear from others while waiting for decisions!

This was not my only application. I’ve applied to UWashington, SeattleU (I have an interview there next week), LSU, Duke, Emory...here’s hoping one of them sees something they like. It’s currently a toss-up between CUSON and UW as my first choices. Both programs are similar in scope and course content.

Best of luck! I am sure that one of them will accept you. Does anyone know when we should expect to hear back? The website says decisions are posted by March but I am curious if anyone has heard further?

Best of luck! You're applying to PMHNP right? do you have psych experience?. I definitely think that you'll get in. I see you also applied to UW as well, any other schools besides UW and Columbia? Hopefully we all here back soon enough.

No, I haven't heard anything of the sort. Did you receive this email? My application just says submitted.
Yes PMHNP! I applied to Columbia, UW and Iowa! I just recently graduated so my psych experiences are from clinicals and I did my senior internship on a psych unit. I’m hoping my essays are strong enough for them to see my passion. I have international experience through volunteering in Jamaica at community clinics. I’m also a first generation student with foreign language minor.

Hi!
I have a research background too! This is definitely great to add in your resume for anything you apply to but PhD programs would like at that accomplishment more than dnp programs. It's a great addition for the DNP program, but since NP's are focusing on evidence based practice rather than conducting research--it's not specifically something the the program would prefer prospective students to have. ?

Same regarding no change to application status. How do you like travel nursing?! Definitely stay safe! I only have two years of experience one year in med-surg and currently work in inpatient palliative care/hospice-oncology but it is very similar to a stepdown unit (managing vents, pts on pressors etc) Hopefully we here back soon! Best of luck!
